Life in 0.0 earlier this year wasn't like this, though. Somehow, you've got to figure out how to make risking expensive ships into less of an issue so we might see this kind of thing happening more often.

Its a typical fleet op (granted it doesnt happen this quickly) so apart from showing the death ray I'm really not sure why they call this the 'dominion' trailer. I could be just a trailer for eve.

I used to love it when CCP put together huge epic cinematic storyline trailers that were actually telling part of Eve's story rather than just being a "OMG LUK AT DEM FUKKEN LAZ0RZ" presentation. The trailers for Exodus, Revelations, Empyrean Age and Apocrypha were awesome. New Eden has always been this dark, nasty, savage place and all the trailers in the past have represented this. To me this trailer was more becoming of something Hollywood would put out for an action flick, or the intro to some futuristic version of Ace Combat by Namco. I don't know, I mean... it was well put together and pretty and all that, but it just didn't seem very Eve. I'd far rather show someone the trailer for The Empyrean Age, or Apocrypha, along with Eve Never Fades (despite it being in the old engine) and The Butterfly Effect to show how things escalate. >>> THE LIFE OF AN OUTLAW <<<

Lagg caused by max grafix settings are from your **ty computer. If you look closer, they are fighting at a outpost (the amarr one). Dominion sov mechanics requiers you to reinforce outposts to claim sov and the system. T2 shipps are used ALLOT in fleet fights (long range hac's for anti dictor pewpew, recons for EW or cloaky buisnis and so on.) I'w seen t3 shipps in fleet combat situations, although it's not common, it does happen. This makes me think this trailer was made befor CCP Nozh came and **t on our faces. more so, if you go have a look at the dominion site, the first page has the trailer window (click to play) in the pic there, you can se a Hel, with a coupple of minmatar fighters, and a coupple of minmatar fighter bombers! You might (not) know this, but they dont have people flying around in thous shipps, the whole trailer is scripted using a spechial program they have for making movies like this.
