I guess its best EVE trailer so far, but one thing I dont like, and its the same thing as was in Quantum Rise trailer - actors. Get better ppl to do this job, show some emotion, make it look like fight, emotions like here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymdSjCYK_PI&feature=related . Video is great, really, i love it, but voices just makes it very good... could be better.

You are correct, it's no voice if you run EVE in singleplayer mode. However if you ARE in a fight similar to the one in the video voice is everything.

Very solid vid by ccp, its nice to know ccp's vision of the game is simler to mine. This shows eve as it is near endgame(granted its sped up and uber rendered).
This is eve in 3 mins, no way then can show super-capital ingame footage in that time.
Stop whining and give ccp some love as they deserve.

It would be rather epic when a ship gets blown up your screen rolls into a cinematic like in the trailer but with all those who were invloved all gameplay would cease until the cinematics were done and then you would resume where ever you left off before it started. Maybe use this for Capitol ships only perhaps. It would be alot less caps being used in large fleet battles which would bring down some of the lag and actually make Caps more epic than what they are being used for atm which are just throw a ways for some alliances. Just an idea dont flame to hard. Anyways very nice vid but I have to aggree, 'real' eve isnt as dramatic but I guess thats what trailers are supposed to be, dramatic.

Actually, I found the voices-acting to be spot on for EVE. Remember, this is us, the capsuleers, fighting, not some dirtsacks.

Hehe, nice vid for sure. Could be almost trailer for some scifi movie.
I don't get why people brag about how it doesn't look the same as the real game. You know, it looks a lot MORE like actual gameplay than any other MMO trailers... (If I may mention the great demon, WoW... Does their trailers show actual gameplay? Not even close... Or insert any other MMO here.)

A lot of the tactics shown in the video are actually used on tq, so i don't get why people get so upset about some artistic freedom.
Examples of tq tactics/screwups that are shown in the video:
-Using a recon to open a cyno to jump in carriers, open a second cyno on the carriers to bridge in support
-Calling primaries while support does their own thing
-Primarying Dictors during a fight to clear capitals
-Support carelessly following a fleet warping off only to get annihilated because they didn't have eyes
-Having a backup fleet to lure the enemy into a fight
-The bs are aligned all the time
-Russians hotdropping you out of nowhere
So yeah..for a trailer this one is actually pretty close to how it plays out on tq.

Yeah, this will fire up all those people who don't Eve is about huge battles where your anonymous name will be wiped out in a fiery explosion and it won't get an audible mention.
Butterfly Effect was better, only just a little bit too laughable, and oh dear lord that voice over.... makes.... skin.... crawl....
How about making videos about things that actually happened in Eve, by Eve players?
From the struggles over pixels and db_records in 0.0 to some new guy getting reamed by a can flipper and not being a turd about it, there are literally tens of stories that play out every day in Eve to enthuse people over, and the vast majority will never involve anything bigger than drake. |
