Get a Coercer. Cormorant is for railguns/blasters. Or better just fly a frigate. Dessies... aren't good.

Destroyers are OK, but despite their low price and skillpoint cost, they're really not 'new character' friendly ships - they really excel in the hands of high skillpoint characters, with experienced pilots.
But yes, a coercer does lasers a lot better than a Cormorant does, and isn't particularly difficult to cross train - frigate 3 doesn't take long.

1. I asked wether or not the fitting was good. Not what ship the fitting should go on!
2. coercer does worse. Not enough CPU and I'd have to pay alot for it's weak power grid to work.
3. Not enough med slots.
4. I don't have a fourth... ________________________________________________

If you want to be able to tackle, the Cormorant does seem a better option. But I'd try to fit it with 125mm IIs and not squeeze on the lasers.
If you want to burn faces, the Coercer really isn't a bad option.
If you want to get in to a decent ship for a low SP pilot, neither works well at all.

I'll slap on some 125MM II's and see what happens. I'll also out fit a frigate.. But I think I might stick with the destroyer I don't know. ________________________________________________

As others have stated destroyers don't work well in the hands of lower skilled pilots. Not to mention destroyers pop just as easily as frigates (or even easier in some cases) for 4x the cost.

Every frigate I've out fitted that has better or the same stats costs 4x as much as my destroyer! Besides. I already have one. That makes it even cheaper... So I think I'm going to go with that. Fly safe everyone! ________________________________________________

Then sell it. (but check the market window first, otherwise you will sell at a loss) My advice would be get a Rifter. Guns ? Check. Cheap ? Check. Something along the lines of full tackle + 200mm plate. 4 days for T2 autocannons + 7 days for minmatar frig 5. I think you should seriously made up your mind what you want to fly later on. Smaller ships up to BC size in smaller gangs ? Then minmatar may be what you are looking for. Large blob and battleships + dreads ? Then have a look at Amarr.

Lashnar, try to slow down a little bit and listen.
First and most important thing to remember is to look at the bonuses on the ship description as this tells you what you probably should fit on that ship.
The fact that someone mentioned putting lasers on a Ferox was a bit of a red herring and it is very rare to not fit the racial weapons on a ship.
On EFT you can right click on things and see how improving your skills will effect the performance of that ship, aim to have all the skills you use at IV as a base minimum.
Also if you're expecting PvE to provide your income then focus your skills towards that, and then look at what extra skills will benefit you in PvP fits you might like, for example if you're going for the Drake for PvP then the Kessie makes a nice PvP frig and with some ECM skills you're fleet mates would always appreciate a Merlin and later a Blackbird along for the ride.
Just to give you an idea, it was at about 12m SP that I started feeling comfortable taking a BC into PvP though the Amarrian ones that I fly are pretty skill intensive.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- you seem determined to turn it into ******* Hollyoaks for neckbeards. |
