Is it going to be a king for doing lvl5 missions after Dominion deployment?

No, it lacks the Calib for 2x Sentry damage rigs and only has 4 useless Launcher Hardpoints.
A Domi will outclass it in every possible way, except maybe tank.

Those 4 launcher hardpoints can be fit with torps. If you use missile range rigs, you get 65km torp range and you'll do precisely half the dps that a Golem would which means 500 dps from those four "useless" launchers.
Add 475 dps with Ogre IIs, a beast of a passive (or active) tank and you have a perfectly good level 5 mission boat. Although you'd be foolish to take it into losec. It would be far more useful running the epic level 4 arcs. -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

It is already the King of level 5 missions... but will be interesting to see if it becomes better or worse with Dominion.

To update this thread now that I've had time to put my updated Rattlesnake to testing and EFT'ing.
The Rattlesnake has received a huge boost IMO. Tank is now nearly 80% stronger, and the damage is around 30% higher.
It's become a unbelievable tanker, and will melt any level 5 mission without problems. It's now a cakewalk compared to before, when I had a few problems (though nothing serious, just having to pay attention to spawn triggers) with Location, Location, and a few others.

The fitting I am looking at right now was full SPRĘs in the low, T2 purgers. 1 dread Invul Field, 1 large shield extender T2. x3 navy drone tracking modules, x2 drone nav modules and whatever in the highs. This is a 1000 dps omni tank. If you replace the 5 mid slot drone modules for shield recharges its something like a 2500 ish omni tank. Fit in Thermal and Kinetic hardeners and its something like 3500dps tank against serps.
I agree with Zeerover the tank has increased massively. 1000 omni tank with 5 mid slots not used for tanking. You could take out the drone modules fit 3 or 4 BCU's and a target painter and still have a very strong tank.
Will edit this post later with a better layout. Got to head to lessons right now.

You cannot use any modules that use cap, so the invulnerability fields, target painters, damage control etc. are out:)
Anyhow the fitting is simple, and surprisingly cost effective compared to the high-end lvl4 fits. The Shield Resist Amplifiers cost less as a set then any XL deadspace booster.

With the correct +5% implants (ZMU2000, KVA2000, ZMA1000, KYA2000 ZMM1000), this fitting reaches 1719 dps omnitank, and deals 645 dps. If the Omnidirectional tracking link is switched out for a shield recharger the tank goes to 2023. Which is enough to tank all of it all the time.
The old rattler of mine had only 1325 dps of tank and 494 dps of damage, and it did remarkably well in these missions.

Doesn't the DCU only take one unit of energy? If you use a Nosferatu shouldn't you be fine?

DonĘt forget you can swap the KVA2000 for a Sansha Modified Gnome implant for even more tank. A lot of people donĘt seem to be ware of the Sansha implant which is better then the KVA. ______ How to Passive Shield Tank T2

With faction specific resist amps that fit has 140k EHP on shields alone and thats to EM/therm it's weakest base resists, I believe it can tank the 50k damage torps found in level 5s without too many issues.
Zeerover, why are you tanking across all damage types, never done a level 5 myself do they not follow the standard NPC faction damage profiles?

No they don't follow standard faction damage. Basically works like this: Most of the ships shoot standard faction damage profile. Towers deal a different type, and a few ships shoot a third one. Similar to EA 5/5 where you have exp, kin, em and thermal dmg.
I have tailored the damage profiles for each level 5 mission in eft, and do of course try and maximize my tank accordingly (fitting two EM resists and no explosive resists vs Sansha), but also will not leave any gaping hole in the tank, since the spawns are not always the same (which means that I'll still fit an EM resist when flying against Angels).
In short an omnitank is needed.
