Alternative, just fix the -ing collision logic so I only collide with asteroids when I actually hit tham.
FFS. These 8km radius veldspar roids have a collision ball that extends to like 12 -ing km!

Edited by: kurg on 09/11/2004 22:25:54 yes I agree you should take dmg when you collide with stuff... like insta'ing into a gate ... kapow.. even the pod would c-r-a-c-k (lol stupid filter)

That might be a little mean if you are going to pod people for colliding with a gate. People setting up instas will not be pleased.
/me grabs head feeling the headache from banging agianst the gate too many times.

then again Im a firm believer in the fact that warping through objects and instas are utterly nonsense, from a game objective
even the paranoid has real enemies...

That would be the risk of using instas

blowing up asteroid would add a new tactical system to the game.
Unfortuantly you will get immature jerks who start surfing fields just to see a few explosions.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

I wonder if Lifewire would ask us to blow up all the high end asteroids in Could Ring and Norad space No really, a bad idea, don't wanna spend the rest of my life blowing up roids
Dear friendly customer... Can I have your money ?

Destroying asteroids in Empire space should get the same reaction from CONCORD if you tried to destroy my jet can.
As for 0.0, well talk about turf war...geez...I just hope Alliance can control jumpgates someday.

If I could blow up asteroids. I would walk right into an alliance, bust their crok/spod/bis/ark fields and leave, thus crippling it. This is the reason why CCP will not change that. ----------------------

Exactly...and another reason why alliances that "own" systems should be able to control jumpgates.
But I don't think that will happen until Titants and Jump drives are implemented.

If you blew up roids, and I recall firing on a few at one time or another, they would just get cycled immediately through the backend and pop up somewhere else. Probably in the same system. It would be nice to shape fields quickly for warp paths though by eliminating some monster Velds. Biggest one I've seen so far is only +16km diameter, but I am on the lookout for bigger ones.

There is this incredibly powerful module out there that takes almost nothing to equip, destroys roids, and generates almost instant cash when used on roids
Empire space has been utterly devestated via this module...
Shame some people seem to underestimate the power of the miner laser.

Who said anything about taking damage.
In a game, such as eve, taking damage from collisions is silly as we DONT have direct control over our ships. Except for large scale commands "move here", "warp there" were mostly passengers on our ships and the direction the choose to take is completely out of our control.
