The following are known issues with the EVE Online: Dominion Mac client
* The client may hang if you press CTRL+Fn+F9. * The Jukebox only registers some songs as available and skips the rest, greatly reducing the amount of available music * Being next to a planet while changing the texture and shader quality will make the planet graphics appear corrupted
We will update you when more information becomes available.

I cannot launch Dominion - even after the patch is applied. It launches the Dominion small window screen, but never progresses to the game.

Have seen "Connection Lost" and then a unresponsive client twice (busy systems to blame?). Have to command+option+esc to kill the client, and then launching the client shows the Dominion screen. That vanishes, and EVE Online then hangs. Have to kill off those processes and destroy the cache and settings folder to be able to get back into the game... |

On a Mac Pro with an nVidia 8800 Leopard
Still get runaway FPS if you are docked and eve is minimized or its window is completely covered by another window. Even with the client in the foreground there is a noticeable increase in load on the GPU while sitting in station as evidenced by an increase in fan speed. Opening the map helps somewhat.

Having the same problem. I downloaded the patch successfully, and was on the game all afternoon, then I got the weird connection message, and the game froze on me. In trying to reactivate Eve, I see the Dominion window, but nothing happens afterwards.
I'm going to wait on deleting my preference folder until it's confirmed to be the only fix - it doesn't seem work for everyone.

Similar to above.
Was playing on dominion for a couple hours when it froze at the start of a jump.
Can't get past the log in screen now. enter password, authenticates, but never goes to character screen. Tried several times and rebooting.

many many many discos and freezes. on clean client d/l or patched client. trashing prefs works temporarily but discos ("socket operation on non-socket") and freezes repeat. apparently random. otherwise game mechanics/graphics appear ok. but had 15 or so discos/freezes in 2 hours tonight. client is unusable in this condition. submitted bug report.
mac pro dual quad core 8 gigs RAM snow leopard.

Seconded. Running Snow Leopard on early 2008 MBP (GF8600). Was in Emolgranlan, w/ 100 in system, at time of disconnect. After cache and settings folder were removed, client started up.

It solved the problem for me as wellùbut only for ten minutes... :(
Now everything freezes again. I get to the login screen, there's a progress bar and even buddy notifications are glimmering through the black screen. But unfortunately that's it. Bootcamping works, but does great mental harm ;)

hi, Same as me, it only takes 10-20minutes before the client hangs. I have to kill the client and delete all the preferences, before i can start.

Same here. this is kind of annoying. we are being charged to not be able to play. I say we should get free game time and some in-game benefit as my training que is now empty and i am wasting this time. also my ship is in the middle of enemy space as that is where the fleet was when my client decided to crap out.

I can't restart the client again. I am somewhere in 0.0, probably I have lost ship and drones. I am just too bored to reconfigure my preferences again and again. Logging off.

I opened a Petition to publish a patch now or remove dominion until all the players are able to play.
For those who live in 0.0 this first weeks are crucial and we have many logistic ops to do NOW.
For example now I can't participate to the transport of hubs in 0.0 and this can lead to a delay in the new sov strategy we have.
This is a big issue cause at the strategic level corps with players with OSX client are penalized in this delicate moment of the game. Is not just a problem of losing a battleship in belt or some drones.

same problem here: after a couple of hours playing dominion I got a "disconnected from server" pop up message. after this, the client would not start (splash screen and then nothing). solution for now was deleting the preference folder. let's see if it the problem pop ups again. |

Got a similar problem: Was just doing a jump, then the client froze. Now I can login to my account and select the char, it's login meter goes to 100% and then nothing. Can't get in. On another char on the same account, no problem. So it is just the char that was online when the client crashed.

I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.6.2, and was playing EVE without problems. After last update (6.20:117956) was no sound in the game. I've done a clean install and nothing, not music, no sound, no effects in the game and the jukebox is empty and there's no option to load music.

This is not a solution, but a workaround. 1. Reconfigure your client to your normal setup. 2. Quit the game. 3. Copy the ENTIRE EVE preferences folder off to a secondary location, leaving the original intact.
As your system crashes and you lose the ability to log in, copy the secondary back to your preferences to quickly get setup again. This is VERY FAR from an ideal solution, but if you are involved in immediate post-dominion SOV action it will get you back online quickly.
I'm sure we (as Mac users) will suffer more with Dominion initially - as I recall there wasn't even a Sisi client to test with until the last week or two.

OK! hung up on my Macpro when about to warp at a gate. Over load of "lost connection" windows opened. Same result after that as described black screen. My hard drive was corrupt so restarted with operating installation disk and repaired the hard drive. No help. Threw out client and downloaded new client before I repaired the hard drive no improvement. Updated my Macpro laptop and signed in so I could get my Drake out of space and back in station. No problems there but was only using the laptop for 10 min. Downloaded client to my 21 inch imac and works fine but havent done much or left the station. Back home for lunch to my Macpro old one 1.1 by the way. Loaded up parallel windows os and upgraded the pc client there. Worked fine but only on a few minutes. Tried to restart the mac client on the macpro that I downloaded before I repaired my hard drive - black screen. So the plan is to throw it out again and re-down load a new client. We'll keep you posted
