1. Garst isnÆt on there, so I donÆt know what you are talking about with ôrageö but JadeÆs efforts to reveal a rotten apple has obviously been illuminating. Though to be fair a lot of people have come together from both sides of the isle to point out abhorrent behavior on the part of the former golden boys.

[1] That's the point. in case you hadn't noticed Constantine's posts are composed largely of insulting her opponents. If her opponents do something respectable she loses that ability. Thus her rage.
[2]And by 'a lot of people from both sides' you mean Fractioneers hollering for blood, plus me and about two other loyalists saying that it doesn't add up.

Considering the fact they're both fairly prominent in the first true expansion of Amarr territory for decades (Perhaps centuries, I'll figure it out once the drink has worn off) I agree. How typical. The CVA and friends reward the CVA and friends. Do you have any idea of what I have sacrificed out in the cold black so that you could huddle in the belly of the Empire, Blake? Can you comprehend why you are not a plaything of the matar? Do you understand how close the Empire came to extinction because weaklings ruled? No. You cannot possibly understand.

A pleasure just to have been nominated but I honestly feel I have not done enough for the Empire this past year to warrant it. I would be happy to see any of my fellow nominees get this award as they have done so much and worked so hard this past year.
Good luck to you all and remember winning means little compared to the rewards of serving the Empire.

Nice to see PIE has a backbone made out of their name sake. The sheer stupidity of taking the ranting and ravings of a long standing enemy and spin mistress Jade Constantine and her army of spies and automated clones against one of their own astounds me.
I cannot help but wondering whether keeping the status-quo and their pedestal image now overrules their devotion to the Empire.
Due to an obvious campaign of slander and half truths from enemies, you have failed to credit a man who has unified loyalists and created arguably one of the most powerful forces under the command of the empress whose sole purpose was to create a force to deal with the evil alliance of Star Fraction, headed by the very same Constantine and rid the galaxy of the Minmatar Menace once and for all.
Do you not see any link? Obvious like the light of the Empress?
Was Pie so short sighted in their sinful pride and false heretical imitation of Imperial authority to not see? Having now disgraced both themselves and the Empire by becoming puppets of Jade I can see no glorious future for PIE. By failing to reward achievement in the name of the Empire and following blindly like puppies the half truths and lies spun by an enemy. You PIE have chosen enemy over friend, heretic over devoted follower. YOU PIE, have become a disgrace.
Forever etched into history, The TRUTH of PIE: Appearance over faith, Opinion over Truth, Politics over Loyalty and Vanity over the Glory of the Empire.

Thank you for your interest Mr Morland. It is refreshing to see that you chose this discussion to be the place to make only your fourth post over the last two years.
However, I do not consider it appropriate to debate in public the specifics of why any individual did or did not make it onto a shortlist.

Relax, I am just here to congratulate the nominees. Congratulations, I trust that you will remember that untill the next nominations come around. PIE is by giving you the place on the shortlist -and later the award, effectively investing a portion of their public image in you.
For that, you and your actions will be under close scrutiny. I sincerely hope there will be no need for this summit to hear of anything possibly damaging to that investment. [Just to be clear, that is not sarcasm.]
I note there is only one representative from 24th. I would imagine they will be a target for some recruitment efforts. Commander Charon Of LS-S7 |

I am going to comment quite strictly and closely on the Amarrian Capsuleer of the Year award shortlist and implications that I believe can fairly be drawn from it, as I assert is perfectly legitimate and proper.
My first observation is that in their announcement of this year's awards PIE stated quite clearly that the shortlists for each award could include up to six pilots.
Originally by: The 111 Amarrian Loyalist of the Year Awards, Sponsored by PIE Inc. Announcement
The PIE Inc directorate will then distill the nominations into two shortlists, each of no more than six pilots.
My second observation is that in the event the PIE directors have chosen to publish shortlists containing only four names each despite there being ample nominations of eligible pilots to construct a shortlist of five or six.
My third observation is that the Amarrian militia pilot with by far the most nominations, eight from a diverse selection of people, and much supporting comment focusing on his combat exploits on behalf of the Amarr Empire, ie. the slavering brigand Garst Tyrell, has been left off the shortlist even though his inclusion would not by any means imply dropping one of the four that are on the shortlist.
My fourth observation is that all nominated pilots of the execrable Deus Imperiosus Acies militia corporation have been left off the shortlist even though, again, the inclusion of one or other of them would by no means imply dropping one of the four worthies shortlisted.
From these observations I draw two conclusions:
1) The PIE directors have recognised that the Deus Imperiosus Acies pilots are unworthy to be considered for an award that must, if it means anything, imply active and meaningful service in pursuit of the objectives of the Amarr Empire. Whatever they have done in this vein, it clearly isn't enough or of sufficient significance. I am bound to say this is a sound judgement on the part of PIE.
2) The PIE directors have accepted the implications of the investigation they mounted as to the character and motives of the loot-swollen bandit Tyrell and rightly left this despicable creature off a shortlist that would have been rendered a mockery of all they say they believe in by his presence on it.
The key detail in reaching these conclusions is of course the fact that the shortlist could, by the original terms announced, quite happily have included six pilots. The argument that the worthiest pilots have taken up all the available slots on the shortlist is therefore not one that can be used. The omission of any names from the shortlist, where all available places are not filled, must be rooted in a positive decision that those eligible pilots not shortlisted are simply not worthy to receive the award.
This seems to me to be the right decision in the case of the Deus Imperiosus Acies pilots, on the simple grounds of the ineffectiveness of that organisation, and again right in the case of the rapine-crazed wolfshead Tyrell, on the even more elementary grounds of his gangsterism and racketeering.
Not that they will care and not that they will accept my logic, I can't be anything but content with PIE's decisions. Others must of course draw their conclusions as to all this as they will on the basis of the facts to hand. I am sure a pro forma 'you are not entitled to draw those conclusions' response of some kind will be forthcoming. I shall not respond further though as I have set out my view in its entirety here and repetition would be tedious.
I will not congratulate the shortlisted nominees for the Amarrian Capsuleer of the Year but I will at least observe that they all appear to be more or less loyal to the principles of the Amarr Empire which, while I abhor such principles, does mean the thing is internally consistent. I am not sure I care to claim the same about the Loyal Servant of the Year shortlist but I will pass over it in silence rather than comment in detail.

Since we are to remain on-topic, I will ignore the Shill Faction's statements.
To Grr. You would certainly have my vote. An award like this is sometimes not so much in recognition of deeds to date, but that people see in you a potential for much greater things. I and others see in you a spark, like the glint in the eye of God.
To the other nominees, my prayers go with you.

Well for what its worth I find a little comfort in PIE Inc. finally deciding to condemn the activities of the brigand Garst Tyrell in the selection of their shortlist. Given No.Mercy's less than impressive testimony of "innocence" on the charges of Piracy and Ransom extortion against the neutral independent industrial alliance Quebec Power there was really no other way to decide this matter than to pass over Garst's nomination and consider him effectively unfit for the award given by PIE.
While I would certainly have prefered a direct and unambigious statement in this regard from PIE I think we will all have to be satisfied now with his exclusion from the shortlist in defacto condemnation as a pirate and a rogue unworthy of recognition.
Of those names who are short-listed, I find them the usual collection of Nationalist lickspittles who while worthy of little praise and note outside the Amarrian cause are certainly paragons of the cult of power-worship and hierarchy dear to the hearts of the slavers in PIE Inc.
Since the list has been made publicly available then I feel empowered to register my own opinion on the matter. Gangleri and Nephelim Xeno of the 1st Praetorian and 24th Crusade respectively have clearly been the most impressive enemies of freedom this past year and should receive the accolades of faction battleships provided from PIE's coffers.

Well, not sure what put you under that impression, just because Garst isnt on the shortlist doesnt mean its because he was condemed, unless I missing something. Plan and simple, this award is covering the whole year, and not actions taken from the last couple of months.

Well Invelious, I think we both know that Garst Tyrell wouldn't take kindly to be being outright "condemned" by PIE Inc. I don't know if you have access to the same intel sources as we do on the issue (but I think its likely you do) so its fairly clear that he'd be prepared to go to war against PIE and risk splitting the 24th Crusade on the issue if PIE dared to actually come out with a public condemnation on the issue.
So this "snubbing" of his nomination (which lets remember was head and shoulders better supported by rank and file Amarrians than anyone else's) is PIE's best way of handing out a defacto "condemnation" without giving Garst the clear casus beli he'd need to drive PIE from the militia as "disloyal "traitors.
The cleverness of PIE's ambiguity on this issue is demonstrated by the reply of "John Morland" on this thread. That Garst and No.Mercy feel obliged to hire anonymous speakers to deliver that message rather than coming here to do it themselves in their own name showes that PIE's strategy is well-judged and if Garst now wanted to wardec PIE in revenge he'd look like the aggressor and divider rather than the great uniting force he'd like be considered by the 24th.
It really is a fascinating study in the byzantine politics of the Amarrian nationalist movement.
Even though I still despise PIE as weak-willed puling apologists I have a sneaking admiration for the way they have wriggled themselves out of this situation and left Garst with the unpalatable choice of either taking the smackdown of his removal from the shortlist with silent humbled dignity or raging out in revenge and finding himself easily categorized as the villain of the piece.
Its all highly amusing and I must say I am really enjoying this year's Amarrian-of-the-year awards.

Without having any specific insight into the deliberations made by the directorate the lists do seem complete based on the nominations made.
Being of Amarr is so much than throwing oneself in front of the enemy or rallying troops to the cause. This goes double for the active war against the Minmatar insurgency where the direct confrontation is merely a part of the whole.
Since Mr. Tyrell has worn the PIE colours in the past, I am quite certain he is well aware of this. The only "snub" coming out of this is of the slander campaigners as they failed to do any lasting damage to the Amarr Militia despite their best efforts.
Given SF's outrageous cluttering of communications channels the past month in order to feed Ms. Constantines unhealthy obsession, the fact that nominations made it through at all is a testament to the stalwart Amarr spirit.

Now, with that in mind, you might just want to take a closer look at the two individual nominated DIA pilots' personal histories for a simpler reason before trying to read that as a snub to the entire corporation.
From a brief glance through the Employment Records of Both Pilots in question, two things come forward as being similar.
1) Both Pilots have, in their Recent History, passed through the ranks of PIE Inc.
2) Both Pilots have also, in Recent History, passed through the Ranks of notible Pirate Corporations (Sniggwaffe in one Case, Ghost Festival in the other)
Now, of these 2 points only the second seems relevant in the context of this Award. It can only be assumed that PIE judged that due to their actions during the last year while they were members of those Corps they could not really be classified as Amarrian Loyalists over the entire timeframe of the Award.
On the first point, it's only relevance would be that during their time with PIE, those choosing the Candidates for the Shortlist would have had ample opportunity to get to know the candidates strength of character due to their closer working relationship during that timeframe. ---------------
