I trust this is the correct place to ask.
Is it pennies or cents or what?
When I am sending 'donations' to people I like to know what exactly I'm dealing with. To date I have no idea what to call them

Whats 0.01 isk called? I mean unless you are ******ed, it is pretty elementary, logical infact that it is called ISK, just 1/100th of an ISK.
ISK = CREDIT, not Currency.

No need for agression, I think it's a fair question to ask, most currencies existing in the non-eve world have a unit and split unit currency, for example pounds and pence, euros and cents, dollars and cents etc.
You'd imagine that in the eve world there would be a term for 0.01 of an ISK.

You say that like you think there is some sort of difference.
If I bother to think of them at all, I usually just think of them as cents, from the (pre-)Latin root centum for 100.

As it is 1 percent of an isk, it seems reasonable to call it a cent.

It's a cent if you look at it as actual security, or a "pip" or "tick" if you look at it as the minimum unit of value you can alter an offer for. - Auditing and consulting

eyrir/aurar= 1/100 of an isk
Comes from similar Nordic words for the 1/100 of a kr=na (°re, oyra), which coincidentally is also the word for ears. Which you PVP'ers (market or otherwise) probably want to be collecting:)

Correct answer. A penny is a type of coin and EVE doesn't have coins or banknotes for currency in ISK. A cent however can refer to a 1/100 portion of any monetary unit. ------- "The strong are often wrong but the weak are never free." |
