Why not Tool, or A Perfect Circle, or something...better...??
bleh.
RAtM is the exact opposite of X-Factor, that's why. If you put X-Factor through a logical NOT operator, the result is Rage Against the Machine.
Still, I think my money would be better spent on a band that plays music without all the agenda...

It's debatable as to whether Amazon get included in the chart listings, or so the guy from Facebook said. That's why he wrote a list of places to buy the song that do get included in the list. I got mine from iTunes.

Estimates are now putting X-Factor 10k in front of RATM due to the shopping today. But as most shops are shut now, that leaves until midnight for people to boost the RATM numbers with downloads.

I bought RATM in 1992 the day after seeing them on The Word, and has remained my fav album of the 90s. 17 years later and a Christmas number 1 off the album. My kids are amused at watching their sad old dad stage dive off the sofa into their mothers ironing.

Woot
Fingers crossed I can get to their live gig when they come to do a freebie later in 2010 in the UK. Sick to death with crap getting Xmas number one and this is certainly a refreshing change. Didn't expect them to succeed as always thought the charts was rigged, but maybe I was wrong. ------

We are free to do what the record industry tell us.
I am just happy that the BBC can't play the Christmas #1 because it contains a sound also present in Norfolk. Censorship irritates me.

Actually, I remember the first time it was released the DJ running radio 1's official chart show accidently played the full uncensored version.

Not... quite.
You see, RATM's record label is Epic Records, whose parent company is Sony Music Entertainment... and Joe McElderry is also signed to Sony. So in actual matter of fact, this isn't much of a spit in the face of the music industry, because SME made an enormous amount of money this week because of the chart battle.
It is, however, a long-overdue kick in the 'nads for the X-Factor and for Simon Cowell. I can't stand the sickly-sweet trash that show spoon-feeds onto the airwaves every year. I was glued to my car radio during the countdown and went completely apesh** when the result was announced.
So, sure, celebrate... but don't let's get carried away and call this a victory over the whole music industry. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

Does this mean RATM is going to be on crimbo compilations from now on?
Bored of the tune due to covering it in various bands, and on nights out, still, better than cowells pedo jingles

Why do people keep on going on about how much money Sony has made from this? I doubt they made that much to be honest. 500k sales at avg 40p a sale. Take the sony cut from that. Well you can do the maths. I wouldnt say no to the money but to SONY its not much. And respect to RATM for donating the money they made from this to a homeless charity.
