Hi all, long time reader, first time poster.
Plan: I'm a hi-sec trader and I'm looking to expand my interests, as such I need some additional capital. I currently trade with around 2 billion in liquid assests and make a steady profit.
Ideally it would be a single investor, simply because it is easier to manage, since this is my first appearance on MD, but will happily submit to no more than 5 investors.
As for trust, I'm not sure how much it would cost to get some of the big wigs from MD to audit me, but I will submit to an audit to a potential investor to show that I have been trading and that my liquid capital in in excess of 2 billion ISK.
Bond length will last 1 month and longer if both myself and the investor wish to do so. Interest will be paid on the anniversary of the bond each month.
I welcome comments and critisism to improve this plan I have offered. If you think I should only continue to read, then please tell me gently :

4% is a bit low for your first bond.

Yes, 4 % is quite low.
When you say you have 2 bn in "liquid" assets I immediately think of cash. If you had 2 bn in cash you probably wouldn't ask for a 1 b loan though, so I am assuming you have 2 bn in NAV (?) and keep your cash to a minimum?
An audit is a very good idea in your case. An audit from an established auditor costs 50-100 mil, and they are wound up atm. You can get a free audit from a non-established auditor here.

4% is awfully optimistic.

Edited by: Deus Mallius on 08/12/2009 09:42:29 Thanks for the comments guys, I'll clear it up a bit.
The 2 Billion is the amount I have available for trading, my NAV is closer to 2.9. This is mostly tied up in speculations.
Ok, 4% is too low, what about 6%?

Smells like collateral...
If you've got 900m of marketable goods that you are holding onto, therein may lie your answer. 90% collateral and 6% interest will probably get you an investor.

I agree with Magnu. To summarise:
1/ Get an audit 2/ Confirm your bond at 6% 3/ Clarify the rules around how/when the bond will work if lasting longer than 1 month 4/ Look how much of your non-trading assets can be held by a trusted 3rd party as collateral.
If you get all of this done, and your collateral was over 75% then I'd reserve 250m.

I would like to suggest to get multiple investors.
These investors will invest a smaller amount of money and therefor it would be easier for you to fill the bond.
If you can get an audit arranged, and the audit is succesfull, I might be interested in investing. ______________________________________ If only EVE could cook, if only.... |

I think you will struggle to get any of those named to do an audit. Of those only VV is actively auditing afaik and I am not sure if he available at the moment.
On a bond of this size you should probably take the offer of a free audit, and if you cant collateralize the loan by any more than 50%, use the money you save on the audit to increase your interest rate to balance the risk and reward.
I personally wouldnt come in without a 8-10% return on something like this. The suggestion of allowing more investors is also wise.

Ok, I'll get Varro Jan to do the Audit. Up the number of investors to a max of 10, and have 50% collateral to be held by each of the investors, proportional to their investment.
And I'll up the interest to 7%.

If you can get one more free 001 auditor to look at you, wou will do everyone a favor. Your investors will have double verification, and we will get more experienced auditors. ----------------------------------------

I agree with Cista. If you can get two successful audits I will happily invest 400mil, if that 7% interest is definate.

This sounds interesting. Pending the write-up of the audits and a more organized overview of the whole thing, I'll reserve 50mil if that's alright.

Mail sent ingame regarding your 2nd auditor if still needed. Also if you don't want the hassle of securing collateral with each of your investors, I am available for that as well if no one else has a problem with it.

Confirming my reservation of 250m based on the 2 audits (happy for collateral to be 50% not 75%).

Varo has contacted me, and once he posts his audit I will transfer the collateral to him, which consists of various minerals and possibly a ship, depending on filling orders for the collateral.
A 2nd auditor will also post his results. Once this is done the bond will be be open. The anniversary of the bond will commence on the day the investment is sent.

Confirming I've received his API key and will be doing the second audit. It will be about 7 hrs or so until I can get around to doing it as I have to get back to work and EveHQ was being a major pain in the ass by crashing every 3 seconds.

OK, here we go with my report. Please go easy on me as it is my first one.
Deus has been actively trading for over a month and is making a profit on his current buy/sell orders. He appears to have a decent understanding of trade in EVE.
Skills: Deus has decent trade skills required to place remote buy/sell orders with 40 order slots*.
Assets: Deus has (at the time of API pull) approx 500 million ISK in minerals like he stated that he is using for collateral. Other assets consist of items he currently has buy orders for and a few T1 ships.
His current ISK balance (at time of API pull) was approx 1.6 billion ISK.
Characters: Deus has a very limited posting history (5 posts all in MD according to Eve Search). He also has 1 alt on the same account that has the basic starting skillpoints and no post history (according to Eve Search).
Concerns: Young character and little/no posting history.
Summary: Deus has the skills to trade successfully, 500 million in collateral, and is currently engaged in trading.
Disclaimer: This report in no way guarantees that it will end successfully. Remember that if you do decide to invest in this offering that only 500 million ISK of collateral would be held by another 3rd party, and, as with any offering, only invest what you can afford to lose.

I approve of the above.
It is a accurate depiction of my character. One side note: Assests include those in sell orders as well as buy orders + cash totals 3.05 billion.

Bond is already filled Leana ;) Don't transfer isk unless DM posts that someone decided not to pay in. Investors are just waiting for Verro's audit and confirmation of collateral transfer.
