I remember the rushes that came from engaging just in normal every day PVP back when I was new. Now I've come to find myself looking for bigger and insane thrills.
Think of it like this: I used to go skydiving. The first time I did it the rush was so extreme that I knew I had to do it again. I did it over and over and over again until finally one day I asked for a split tandem jump and jumped out of the Mooney without my chute (do not try this without experienced training; the AAD systems in parachutes activate automatically and you could die without experience). Trusting my friend Rick with my entire life, he caught me midflight and we clipped our harnesses together and he pulled the chute.
Ever since that day I have never experienced a rush from skydiving, simply because it is now considered "safe" or even tame.

Well, we all know that engaging targets on a station can be a rush at times. I mean, you're taking sentry fire and the target could get away and you could be left in a messed up situation, perhaps hung up on the bounding boxes and unable to warp or even worse an interceptor could tackle you and you could be in a nasty position and not able to escape.
We've all done it. We've shot the odd target on stations and popped it, and it feels good. You expect that fight to be epic, because you've got an extra 300 DPS coming your way and you have to engage a target maybe bigger than you!
A few days ago I took out my Cruor and sat it on a suicide station, actually hoping my permablink status would cause a few people to shoot me. Well, it did (suprise) and I soon had a fleet of cruisers, battlecruisers and even a Vindicator on top of me trying to gank me. I docked, of course.
Well, a Kestrel with 5.2 security came along to the station and docked. Local was relatively empty, and a couple of my corpmates were idling outside the undock point with me. I said "hey look, a target." They started thinking "he's gonna do it, get ready to scoop Siig's loot" and the Kestrel undocked.
Sure enough, I opened fire on the pilot, most likely catching him by complete suprise. He went down in a hurry, and gave up a bit of tech 2 loot. I hastily warped off to the first thing I could manage to click (top belt, rofl) and warped to it. Fortunately only rats were there so it didn't compound my anxiety.
I was excited! I had just killed a target on a station IN A FRIGATE while taking sentries.
Just a few moments ago, something similar happened, however I was now by myself. An Ares warped to the station and docked. I was excited, thinking now would be my chance again. Local started to swell a bit from quiet to about 6 people. I kept my focus, and approached the station so I was right on the edge of the station boundary. A Merlin warped in who I know to fit an AB and a MSE as well as be a potential help to the Ares, and I shouted "HAVE SOME HONOR" in local. The Merlin docked after a moment.
A few seconds later the Ares undocked. I overloaded my highs and my web and ticked on my microwarpdrive. I kept him at range and waited anxiously as he continued drifting out of the station's docking range. 5... 7... 10... 15... BOOM he starts microwarpdriving and I acquire a lock. I turn on everything I have and manage to get a full volley of neuts off and my multifreqs fire. He's webbed moving about 1500m/s and just breaking 10 kilometers... this guy was fast. Just as I see him slipping out of range the Merlin undocks. He's 37km away now, but I hold on. I eyeball the overview and then the target and realize I think I've actually got it.
I start to think of an escape plan. The Ares doesn't have me scrambled, what do I do? Do I run? Do I stay? My heart pounding, I see the Ares plummet through armor. I hold fast and deliver the final blow to his structure, then mash the warp button (again, to a belt.)
I escape. My heart, pounding out of my chest reminded me of my skydiving, and that this won't happen again for a long time.

Siig, you are nuts. And that's only PART of your appeal! How long were you under sentry fire to make this kill?

Hmmmm... this your fit?
[Cruor, PvP] Damage Control II 400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Heat Sink II
Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters Dark Blood Warp Scrambler Dark Blood Stasis Webifier
Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Dark Blood Multifrequency S Dark Blood Small Energy Neutralizer Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Dark Blood Multifrequency S [empty high slot]
Small Trimark Armor Pump I Small Trimark Armor Pump I Small Trimark Armor Pump I
Nicely done though. I've had similar feelings when ganking ships in my nanorax (12k EHP, usually escape in structure from sentries), but flying an expensive ship like that must have been nerve whacking lol.

I never thought I'd see the adrenaline rush from jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft without a parachute compared to a space ship internet game

What he said. Also, this is why you jump out of a not so good airplane. Seriously, I've been up in a plane a couple times that it just seems safer to jump than to go back down with the plane.
