Right.. So.. once more Germany has implimented something that annoys me off tremendously.
The issue lies in the fact that in the Atlantic.. 25 ships at sea.. and then 2 of which are U-Boats, don't get me wrong.. we all love sitting in hostile waters giving intel on EVERYTHING that goes on.
But this one bothers me.
The thing with U-Boats is that they can sit there ALL day.. doing nothing.. under water 100% safe.. with 200 hostiles.. and give intel on everything, at no expense.. There is a major issue in that sailing in home shores is compramised by these little U-Boats.. all it takes is for one to get in position.. and then 1 misses misses some intel for what ever reason and you have people crying over a sinkign ship.
Now, I've been in this war for a hell of a long time and there are only a select few issues that have bugged me to this extent, and U-Boats are one of them.
6 U-Boats.. yes 6 SUBMARINES sit in hostile waters.. waiting for anything they feel they can take down and you can't stop them.. all you can do is inform your leaders that there are U-Boats are under water.. they are rediculously powerful disruption tactics and they need a nerf.
kill the U-Boats, make it Need Oxygen or summit and cost Desiel to run.
fix it Winston churchhill get rid of the 50 U-Boats spread about the english channel and Atlantic.

Edited by: Liang Nuren on 15/12/2009 00:14:01 What you are *REALLY* complaining about is *LOCAL ITSELF*. You would be fine if you didn't even know they were there - which would *really* be a much better analogy anyway!
-Liang
Ed: CCP has said that they don't want local to be a source of intel for people. But that *REALLY* goes both ways. You have intel on their numbers, and when they enter/leave system. In "reality" they should be able to have a 200 man dread fleet in your system taking down a POS, and if a director from that corp isn't online then no one ****ing knows a thing. -- Liang Nuren - Eve Forum ***** Extraordinaire www.kwikdeath.org |

this is the official 'afk cloaker' whine thread.
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1217512
thanks for starting another one, anyway...
while i'm not a big fan of analogies, yours is a bit amusing. history recalls that, despite the unknown danger, the convoys rolled on. they did not sit in home port, posting about how unfair submerged submarines were. if they had, they soon wouldn't have had a port to call home.

as much as i like the idea here, with the new sov system, wouldnt getting rid of local work a treat if it was only 'available' to the corp/allince that controls that system. Their beacon flag thingy having a scanner that provides the local system owners wiht reports of ship types and names of pilots only. (not locations obviously)

TBH giving ship type is *WAAAAAAY* too much information. Also, the information should flow both ways - you know what ship I'm in, and I know what ship you're in (and whether you're docked).

To all the idiots out there, this is a direct parody of the cloaker whine thread found here. Though the mistake is excusable as the attempt at humor is not at all funny.

Edited by: Regat Kozovv on 15/12/2009 18:19:46 I think what we need is an ocean-wide detection system (say, when we get Sov III) that instantly detects all cloake er, submarines.
Edit: Oh, wait.

I like how liang molded it into a 'nerf local' rather than 'nerf cloakers' whine.

Using IRL comparison is not really relevant and if it was it would probably backfire for the OP.
For example, one carrier is several hundred times more expensive than a submarine and yet, one torpedo salve that hits home will likely take out a carrier for good. A modern diesel-electric AIP-submarine can stay submerged for weeks and it can probably run rings around most carrier groups as it is very hard to detect.
I like my SBs but I'm not sure if i want them to be able to kill carriers in one salvo. Might be a tad overpowered

You know this works both ways. They gather your intel so go gather their's. It's war dude, thats the way it works. Also I think I'm being trolled.......
