The rules for the thread are simple- post about what features or changes you like the most, and why. Complaining about something or being negative isn't allowed. All posts not abiding by these rules will be terminated with extreme prejudice.
Some things I like, in no particular order-
The new planets. They really give the game that sense of scale that it's been missing. The eye candy is great.
The FOV changes. The scale of ships are now more consistent and it again helps with the visuals.
The new private convo dialogue box that allows you instant access to the person's info who is attempting to message you.
Being able to drag and drop a character from a chat window into the text entry area and have it immediately link the person's info instead of having to choose what type of info you wished to link. It's much cleaner and more convenient.
The new in game browser. Nuff said.
The new mail system is miles better than the old, even with it's kinks.
The new faction ships. I've finally found a BS (the Machariel) that is pretty much an absolute perfect fit for my particular play style. A lot of other ships have come close, but this one really hits the nail on the head.
The Fleet Finder is just outstanding. I can't wait to see what else CCP comes up with to increase it's flexibility and functionality. I love it.
With respect to overall usability of the game I don't think there has been a single expansion in the game's history where so much as been accomplished in a single release. These are improvements that every single player in the game benefits from, regardless of where they live in the galaxy or what they choose to do in the game.
Bravo CCP. -- Bellum Eternus Inveniam viam aut faciam.

The ammo changes for minmitar now give us slightly more choice with auto cannons instead of the usual EMP or barrage \o/

Agree with all OP's points, though he has found some I didn't notice yet.
Another big plus for me, may be only a small for everyone else, but when you click character and it tries to print all the text so slowly you have to wait a few mins before you can see what clone you had. Now fixed!
Note to self: upgrade clone -omg-

There has indeed been "heaving-space-nerd-rage" on the forums. Very comical.
I like the fleet finder stuff. CCP should have really spot lighted this.
Want to buy the Assault Frigate updates that were proposed, however saying that, would prefer CCP introduced new ships and skills for them.
Like they did with electronic attack frigates, but don't make them quite so weak.

(1) No more Grid doomsday - 0.0 fleet combat is actually fun again. It's nice to be able to actually do a HAC gang in the North again.
(2) ♥Fleet Finder♥
(3) Less POS warfare. Seems like we still do a fair bit of POS killing, but now we're doing it for money or to knock out JBs. Fighting for Sov is now actually about winning ship vs ship battles, not endlessly grinding away at death/****/spongestar spam. Once virtually all the cyno jammers drop, I expect that things will get even more interesting.
All that experience dealing with lag I picked up in 2007/2008 has come in handy. Despite the lag monster making a :surprise: Winter comeback, 0.0 is considerably more fun for me post-Dominion than pre-.

being honest, the starfields and planets look cool

Apart from you have to attack a system like 6 times over a week during which the defenders can ignore u before u finally get the station amour reinforce timer which will lead to another timer of the defenders choosing (the only time they have to actually wake up and do anything and ofc they choose when oh yeh +/- 2 hours.....) To actually get a station.
So good luck with that one smaller alliances :P and TZ war seems worse than it ever was because theres no way to screw up a timer. Please re-size your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Zymurgist |

The best thing in Dominion was bellum saying Quote: All posts not abiding by these rules will be terminated with extreme prejudice.
Now i want to test the theory....
ok i dont, i do like the AC changes and how 0.0 is more streamlined, might even try and claim a patch myself

I was going to say the in-game browser, but then I remembered the projectile boost. Definitely the projectile boost. Then the in-game browser.
The fleet finder is cool, too, but I haven't used it much (yet).
I also agree that the mail client is much, much better.
There are also some other odds and ends that just make life easier.

Well, imo, this expansion hardly deserves the name it is really just a big patch.
Being able to repair my bad standing with the pirate factions is about the only thing that I wanted.

Still beats the hell out of dealing with a couple of dozen large POS. If the defenders are dumb enough to ignore all the punultimate opportunities to defend their station, then that's their lookout.
What system could possibly give smaller alliances the advantage over stronger ones without enabling stronger ones to completely steamroll smaller incumbents? As it is, the current system allows small alliances some time to gather help and allies to defend their space, and doesn't require them to buy and maintain loads of large POS.
I keep seeing this weird misconception that the sov system should somehow balance weak alliances with strong ones. To me, that seems oxymoronic, but perhaps you can be the one to help me understand where it came from?

1. Fleet finder!
2. Eye candy. Yes it's supplementary, but EVE has looked brilliant since Trinity EXCEPT for the planets and starfield, which looked like they were from 1999. Now they both look gorgeous (particularly the planets)!

The best change was the removal of the AOE DD. That change is better then all other changes combined for the last 3 major patches. It has given new life to the game for me. I applaud the people in CCP that pushed for this, and curse those against it.

For us (little alliance) the sense of building something is pretty cool. Having to leeroy a freighter convoy across 24 jumps of low and nullsec was pretty cool. No, we didn't whine, we just got it done.
The bugs have been disappointing, but we haven't let it slow us down a bit. CCP has always been a fire...aim...aim...aim outfit.
The sov system is no doubt a boon to smaller alliances. As has already been said, not having to deal with the crushing logistics of POS spam alone is worth the price of admission.
I agree that a sov system shouldn't enable a weak alliance to prevail over a stronger one in any one battle. What I do hope comes to pass eventually as more upgrades are made available is the ability for a little alliance that has stayed at home and focused on upgrading and working their space to fortify its "home turf" to the point that an imperial power has to think long and hard about whether conquering them would be worth the cost. ---------------- We're recruiting quality players.
