EX Cmd

If I'm using scan probes and my client crashes or I loose connection, when I log back on quickly enough, I have the option of reconnecting to my lost probes. I feel that this option should exist for drones in the following situations:
-If I leave (warp, dock, jump) my drones and come back to them, I should be able to reconnect and command them as soon as I am within my drone control range (longer range for fighters since they warp and follow commands across a system)
-If my client closes (crash, disconnect, etc) I should have the option of reconnecting to my drones and commanding them when i am within my drone control range (also longer range for fighters)

I love the idea, but with one addition:
To prevent using this feature for ambushes, after you reconnect to your drones, the only command the drones will obey is to dock in the drone bay. After they have docked, they can then be launched and used normally.
I know many people are sick of loosing drones due to disconnects; I certainly am.

This would indeed be a really nice idea. -------------------------- 2 Years later, mining continues to be the most overlooked game mechanic in Eve |

This issue has been raised so many times in the past, I'm fairly confident CCP is aware of it, but for whatever reason, they've seemed reluctant to implement it. It wouldn't be such a big issue for drone users if you could transfer drones from your cargo bay to your drone bay in flight, but as it is, it sucks getting your entire offensive capability wiped out by a router hiccuping in Timbuktu.
In any case, I agree; it'd be nice to be able to rescue your drones more easily on reconnect.

I dont understand the promblem either. Sure if you had the ability to reconnect to a drones systems you could plot groups of sentries to your tactical advantage and the likes, but if you were to simply disallow a reconnect after a manual abaddonment then that would resolve that sort of abuse. You wouldn't be able to drop drones for any sort of delayed activation if that were the case. However a distance reconnection process could be an interesting idea, as long as there's some sort of delay and/or degree of difficulty (hacking anyone?). Would be nice to add more to electronic-scanning abilities if you ask me.
By far one of the most annoying instances in EVE is the slow boat scoop procedure, I find myself having to do way too much. I'd rate this as a top priority fix right now.

I don't see what the problem is. If you choose to chase somebody down to get a kill why should he not be able to ambush you with sentries? It's your risk.
Reconnect to drones FULL function.
