Obviously some of the little stuff is good like improved Minmy guns and more faction BS.
But the core and name sake of Dominion - does it pretty much suck? Are the sovereignty, moon mineral and capitol ship changes making the game better or more fun for anyone as they stand now?
This is an actual question. If it has made the game better for you please take the time to explain.

Most of the balance changes are great, as for the sov changes yeah they are buggy but giving them two weeks to decide if it is a failure or not is absurd.

in my opinion, the graphics changes alone justify the update. I am in love with the new starfields. I want to marry them.
edit to add: and fleet finder. I also want to marry fleet finder. Me and the UI/Graphical interfaces have this weird poly thing going.

I think the new sov system will prove to be a good thing. Right now it's still very young. It has already accomplished one of it's primary goals: get new people into 0.0. Some alliances may not have freed up some room, but many have, and I suspect that as CCP fine-tunes the sov system, the rest will follow. |

If you ask those who were first to explore wormholes when Apocrypha was released, chances are they found plenty of bugs and some figured that this new content sucked too, those that decided to put forward well written opinions on what could be improved and gave CCP a chance are probably much happier with that side of the game now.
It's a big change to an established set of mechanics, and it's only a couple of weeks old. You could try giving it a chance.

You cannot call an expansion a success when you have that many problems with sov, that haven't been tested, when the test of this expansion was a joke and when they ****ed up in the first few days after Dominion the way they did - 'forgetting' to not allow DDD's in low-sec ... 'forgetting' to fully nerf fw lvl 4's ... forgetting to test out the new sov changes and refusing to name as exploits obvious sov exploits.
All of these show that this expansion resembles more and more the work of blithering idiots with no QA department behind them than the work of a professional company.

i just dot care about sov. too many years with naptrains and an inability to get in on decent ratting in my younger days without having to suck the dong of an alliance made me pretty much lose any interest in it.
balance changes are nice. and with the new starfields i have an excuse to actually spin a ship in space between hunts.
as for the whole mom/supercarrier thing. its like titans. i just dont care.

Getting a foothold in 0.0 is done one of three ways. Either through joining an existing 0.0 entity, negotiation, or through brute force. Often one method is smarter, and much more practical, than the others.
Negotiating successfully with an entity more militarily powerful than yourself is a sign of intelligence, not subservience. Once you figure that out, you'll find your chances of success in whatever you choose to do will increase substantially.

I think it's fair to say that Muad' Dib is a moron. You haven't gotten your way and it hasn't been done the way you want and you act like you could do better. Quit eve because whiners like you don't belong here.
Expansions take time to get everything worked out. Give it time and STFU. Just be glad these expansions are free and you dont have to pay for each one like most other MMOs. Whats the expansion cost for other MMOs anyhow?

A paid expansion would have to be optional, how would you do that in Eve? Sharded server? Regions you can't access? |

Cap changes were ****, sov changes achieved nothing but even more timezone warfare and blobbing, upgrades aren't worth the effort and can hold 2-3 people per system max, server performance can't support 100 people moving through systems.
So yeah. The features that were hyped the most have failed pretty hard.

You mean regular content updates? 0$ last I checked.
Major content expansions with new leveled zones? Too much, but leveling is what makes most MMOs suck anyway. Nothing like being level 80 when everyone you invite to play your favorite game has a cap of 60 and won't be able to play with you in any current content.
The only company to charge for regular content updates is SOE that I know of, and we all know how much of a joke they are.
Also the kind of segregation paid expansions cause would break EVE, period.
tl;dr: thank god CCP isn't that stupid.

I personally would say it's far far far to early to tell whether this will be a success or failure. Changes in sov will take weeks if not months to adjust to.
the patch has been out for a little over 2 weeks and a LOT of the new sov functions just recently came online. I'd wait until FEB before passing to much judgment.

You seem to be under the false and wildly ignorant opinion that Dominion is merly the changes to sovereignty.
It took CCP many many years to realize that the old sovereignty system was fail, so all we know for sure is that Exodus, failed (if that was the expansion which introduced it.

The sov changes are a step in the right direction. There's no way CCP can prevent big alliance from claiming the same huge swaths in spirit if not in name, by virtue of their huge fleets. But at least the system in place now is vastly superior to the old way, in terms of people being able to stake claim and have a null sec home.
