I am thinking of buying a Crusader cos they look just so cool :)
I need a little advice on outfitting it tho ?
2 Med slots is not great for pvp - especially if ones use for oversive ab or MWD....
Could use some constructive advice on setting up for PVP inty killing (if it can be set up that way) and also PVE
Thanks all :)
Oh year + will I be able to hit anything with beams if i high speed orbit at 3k/s (my gunnery skills are all at 3 at the moment)
I need this advice as I wish to get into a non CROW inty and move away from missile boats for a while...

You could always try a Claw, as it's one of the cheaper intes right now...

Well im not shure but i dont think the crusader is the right ship for low level gunnery skills i have 7m in gunnery and my Crusader is a killer, but its cutting it close against a TII fitted tanaris, i think its only becous i have so hig skills that i have newer lost to a TII fitted tan before.
my fitting is
4 dual pulses TII
1 MWD TII 1 fleeting weber
1 TII heatsink 2 caprelays 1 small acomo armorepper
ps, a webby crusader dosent kill anything that dosent whant to fight u.

Randoms setup with a warp scrambler, kills most things that dont want to fight you to >:O
If they web you, they still have to orbit at 7500 (when orbitting at 5km, its around 6.3km) to warp scramble you, so you can either pwn them, or warp out if they start pwning you --

Its really easy to kill a taranis,Fit a 20 km warp scrambler,And keep at about 15 km with radio crystals,He will never hit you,And the crusader is the second fastest inty in the game (Slower than claw,Or was it the other min inty?)

I know i can orbit (and i use a TII dual beam fitting+20km disrupter fitting for that) but The dual TII pulse + multy cristals is a simple go in and kill fitting, i dont orbit i dont ceap at range, i just go in and try to kill enemys before they relize that they can warp away. It works preaty well IMO, only 1 frigg has maneged to kill me upp close and personal and that was a Enyo But that was when Assoult frigs wherent common in the feald. It takes me abute 3-5 secks to kill a frigg/inty so 90% of the cases i get the kill with a abute 90% armordamige. But like ppl know its abute picking ur battles and dont rush in to things u cant handle. That is why Tan can get close in a fight, upp and close they do damige hehe, but I know i can handle it so i just do it

Edited by: slapp on 18/11/2004 14:26:45 hum.... i can already fly a crusader but it will take antoher week to make it a killingmachine. if i were you, i would use: 4*dual pulse laser II (microwave) 1*t2 mwd 1*named disruptor (20km one) 1*tracking enhancher II (gotta make those pulses track better and increase the range) and the others at your own will
you orbit at 15 km, you're faster than any other inty, you're pounding your target, when it wants to get away you scramble it.
btw: have you "ties" with phoenix 777?

I'm curious how you guys are fitting 4 tech 2 PULSE beams that use 12 grid if i recall correctly and fitting all that other "stuff" without a micro aux core.
the ship has a grid of 50, 4 guns using 12 grid each is 48 leaving only 2 grid for all those other fancy components.

Dual light pulses, not medium pulses. They use 7MW each, and is quite a viable fitting. Besides medium pulses have too poor tracking to hit anything at 3.6kps, which is your orbit speed at 15km with MWD II active (with nav 4 and hi-speed maneuvering 4). _________________________________________________ War transcends all barriers of species, race, religion, and civilization. |

Gotta love that 4.39x DM
Opps sorry that 5.39x DM not as above my bad.
Also Skills play a large part in it. I dont bother with Named micrio power cores. They steal too much CPU!

that's why i asked
17.2 mill SP with X' and my alt at 16 mill and is Amarr race ships only and only laser skills doesn't qualify for your set ups then I spose
just trying to to clarify what guns you guys are using.
alts current crusader
4 t2 pulse 1mn AB2/eutectic 1 named mac/t2 sm armor rep/cap relay/t2 tracking enhancer
IMO ......the named tech 1 guns with a heat sink 2 installed performs better for armor tanking and much easier to fit different luxery items to have more intended or specific roles.
have yet to see a t2 pulse wreck over 160 and have multiple wrecks with anode pulses or modulated pulses up and over 200
not sure how the dual pulses hit.

I fly a crusader, and I use it for ALL L3 missions.
I use 4 t2 dual light pulse lasers, 2 t2 afterburners, 2 cap relays, 1 pdu, and one t2 armor repairer
I bet you wonder why I would use so much cap equipment on a fast ship... well... I don't need to, but I like the extra security of being able to run my repairer for long periods of time
147.6 damage wrecking shots with gamma crystals :)
