The secrets on how to loose 50+ capitals and a support fleet without killing anything while outnumbering the enemy 2:1
Keyword; Strategy.
We play chess in game, we plan for our opponents move, we try to pre-plan on what to do when it happens, and with different scenarios. Theres nothing we haven't seen, we seen it all, in various places, all over New Eden.
Monday night was no different then other nights. We weren't actually expecting a fight.... as the night grew older, we saw that we might get one, the enemy is amassing in K25, local goes up to 350 in k25 before the showdown while we are preparing to kill and siege a hostile SBU. We get reports of 100+ hostile capitals, and people start waking up from their slumbers.... we count a total of about 7-800 hostiles... this is going to be a slugfest. We have 300-350 active pilots.
Apart from the regulars in ATLAS, we are seing new faces, Gentlemens Club, Cult of War, Solar Fleet and Red Alliance has turned up, in huge numbers. Hostiles are streaming into K25... We watch them set up, and get ready. A few key elements lets us decide what to do. They are splitting fleets, one to travel, one to jumpbridge.
This is where ATLAS et al lost the battle. Before even jumping one ship, they have already lost. The pre-planning and the strategy they have chosen will not work, regardless of numbers.
The gameplan for ATLAS is simple, jump in a boatload of people into K25 using regular gate, as a distraction to bridging people and capitals in. Solar/RA/LEM are chosen for this. On the incoming gate, all our supports are parked, and, a large t2 bubble. We also have 5 titans on standby, for various tasks.
It begins.
200+ pilots jumps into K25 using the regular gate, they are slaughtered by the support fleet as they load at the jump bridge that we valiantly defend. ATLAS are bridging a new boatload of fleet in, HACS and Capitals.
Fights all over the system, carriers are winning their fight at the Gate, supports are holding down the enemy capitals, and our capitals are ordered to warp to the hostile capitals....
Our battleships are sent to sniper spot above gate, to deal with any incoming remaining fleet.
"Capitals, your primary is....Raindeera" 5 minutes pass.
The node collapses and dies. K25 have 1000+ in system, and we have been fighting a good 15-30 minutes when the node crashes.... No capitals were killed before the node crash, but, Solar/RA lost the fleet that gated in, they lost the main bulk of the fleet that bridged in, and whatever is left... is 100+ capitals. The waiting game starts.. the node dies a couple of more times before it finally starts loading. It has taken the server about 2 hours to understand what it should do, and we send EVERYONE onto the gate, we will NOT stand down from this. Whoever runs first, dies horribly.
After the first breathtaking 15 minutes before we get people properly loaded... its anyones guess who is going to die badly today.
Its a turkeyshoot.
50+ capitals dies a agonizing death while they are trying to run away.
You lost this before it even started ATLAS. Come prepared next time.

There was out of 155 capitals in system, 9 atlas cap losses from looking at kill-boards and those that didn't generate mails. You guys also nailed some 9? solar/friends carriers before we arrived, so at most 19 out of 155 capitals - certainly notable but by no means nothing that will hurt the parties involved, unlike when WI lost 49 capitals to 1 kill.
The simple fact of the matter is WI has failed to do anything to counter ATLAS/friends campaign, your FC's are not in the best position and despite requiring AAR's on your forums, in the first week of ATLAS being heavily engaged with WI, you only posted a single AAR which was for the k25 fight. You know this was a good post a long long time ago when Molle wrote pretty much this exact same post. I remember reading it I have just joined KIA before you put the lol in it. MC was leading the mercenary revolt.
I would say nice post but your just committing plagiarism.
Anyways it must be fun killing ships that can't load grid or whatever. Once CCP fixes 0.0 battles I may think about playing in the blob fest again.

The node didn't crash, well not whilst atlas and co were there anyway. There weren't 7-800 of us (maybe thats what your fc's told u).
u didn't kill 50 capitals.
the highest i saw local rise was about 650-700.
yes you killeda few capitals that failed to laod properly, got scanned out and killed.
and yes u herorically ganked 2-3 few capitals that lagged out and didn't catch the homeward cyno before they got bubbled, whilst the rest of the cap fleet watched for 10-20minutes in limbo waiting for sytem to load...
You should save this quality of material for a Razor style propaganda poster published weekly or something

So, to condense this rather longwinded OP, and including various other recent posts, here is what I'm getting out of this....
After being repeatedly asswooped by Atlas, the lag finally fell in your favor and you got a few kills, which you then inflated to make it look like a worthy post? You then proceeded to chestbeat until you ran out of breath, while other posters seem to be pointing at a serious internal situation.
And when you said history, I can only assume you meant your alliance, and not that this was in someway a historic fight?
That sum it up?

There was out of 155 capitals in system, 9 atlas cap losses from looking at kill-boards and those that didn't generate mails. You guys also nailed some 9? solar/friends carriers before we arrived, so at most 19 out of 155 capitals - certainly notable but by no means nothing that will hurt the parties involved, unlike when WI lost 49 capitals to 1 kill.
The simple fact of the matter is WI has failed to do anything to counter ATLAS/friends campaign, your FC's are not in the best position and despite requiring AAR's on your forums, in the first week of ATLAS being heavily engaged with WI, you only posted a single AAR which was for the k25 fight. Even your own membership questioned why objective AAR's were not being posted anymore, the K25 aar is a complete wash with nothing but propaganda spin.
At the end of the day, this linky speaks volumes to the situation and WI lack of ability to do anything about it.
Also worth noting k25 local never topped 700 pilots, pro spin.

Surely if you have 1000+ pool of players to use you dont all pile into 1 system, I would just send random fleet of about 200+ split them up and make them cause havoc all through the enemys space. That way at least you arent going to kill the node
Hell deploy like 10 sbu's in random systems, try and make the enemy guess where the bulk of your fleet is and where bouts your capitals are going to deploy, that way chaos ensues because the enemy doesnt have a clue where to go first
Better than a damn node death tbh
