Anti-Hulkageddon
As most people know, Hulkageddon has started. Its started by manufacturers of hulks and mining barges who want to jack up the prices of their ships they are selling.
So I propose a way to make this come to a screeching halt. and make the kids who started this festival lose major ISK.. Use only Bantams..
Thats right.. ONLY bantams...
The people hunting hulks etc. are suicing ganking them. still making ISK while the manufacturers of miners, Mining barges, and hulks are making a killing in profits when the miners go to buy more. If you use Bantams.. the suicide gankers will only lose ISK, and the manufacturers of the mining barges will gain no profit, making them lose ISK in the long run when they need to pay the people who have destroyed miners.
Please contact all mining/industrial corps you know. Get the word out. Help Hulkageddon come to a halt.

1 Hulks are used by miners to yield minerals (profit)
2 Manufacturers buy minerals to produce Hulks and destroyers (investment)
3 Gankers buy destroyers (investment)
4 Gankers blow up hulks and get insurance payout and loot(profit)
4 Miners buy Hulks from manufacturers (investment)
5 manufacturers get isk (profit)
6 Go to 1
7 EVE works as intented

So I heard that if you mine in a Bantam during Hulkageddon, you're less vulnerable to smartbomb destroyers podding you etc.

Why not just band together, move the hulks to a lowsec belt, and have your corp pvpers shoot the hell out of anything that warps in? You can't get ganked if they cant approach you, and there are tons of empty lowsec systems to pick.
Or have a ton of mining corps wardec python cartel, and see if you can collect as many frozen corpses of helicity boson as exhumers killed?
Or even migrate to 0.0 en masse. If you want to screw with people there are better ways.

I remember mining in only Bantams.... People should do it just because players that started after release had too.

I don't understand this kind of response. As much as I think it's silly to INSIST that it's the case that it's some effort to mess with the market, I think it's equally silly to insist that it's not the case. The truth is that the only people who know for sure are the organizers, and if it IS the case that they're trying to influence the market for profit they're not going to tell us.
But think about it... They're giving away BILLIONS in ISK and prizes as rewards for people doing something that will have a fairly significant effect on the market, and they're doing this for... fun? They're just giving away all that money and all those prizes because they think it's fun? You don't think it's at all possible that there's something going on? This is EVE, not City of Heroes where the currency is meaningless.
Again, not insisting that it's the case, but really... you don't think it's even worth considering?

Hulk prices started going up well before Hulkageddon started, they were up to around 150 mill at least two weeks before. The event may contribute to a further hike in prices. And if Helicity Boson is manipulating the market, shrewd move.
But then, I found it quite amazing how many hulk pilots seemed to have their heads in the sand and had no idea what Hulkageddon even was, 2 days into the event. The hulks I have on my other character were tucked away.

Why fight it? Just dock your Hulk up, and start learning Hulk invention 
You can always turn something negative into something positive with some creative thinking.
