Here
Funniest part is her saying "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news." Surely this is a sad joke? Not just her joining Fox but her statement 'fair and balanced news'. Goes to prove that the world has finally gone bonkers.

You know what? This is an excellent fking idea.
Hey, maybe we can replace the Supreme Court with some of them bears from the circus that walk around on top of big balls and wear funny hats with the tassels.
Sara Palin on Fox news? Good, great, grand.
You know, if records survive the apocalypse we manage to cause, America will go down in history as the most hilarious crash of an empire. Our legacy will be akin to that of a grand prize funniest home video.
Seriously, they wonder why i drink. Half my country seems to have shat out their brains and blindly cheer for.... well whatever it is our team is supporting. And the other team? Well TO HELL WITH THOSE COMMIE TRAITORS!! The terrists hate our freedom and something something. Support the troops and keep sending them! (or something). fjkfldsa;jgk;ldsa OMG I"VE BLOWN A FUSE!!!

So it is ... http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/08/13/entertainment/main568042.shtml ... but isn't it the exact phrase (capital F, ampersand, capital B) which is trademarked, rather than the general phrase 'fair and balanced' ? _____________________

For me, any organisation's association with La Palin is a good indicator of its/their crdibility, which is nice.
Only this lunchtime I was reading part of a serialisation in the Times of extracts a new book on the election Campaign out yesterday Race of a Lifetime, todays' extract dealt with McCains VP selection. (There are bits of it at the Times online site now). A few more insights into her qualities to be had - I choose to laugh when I read that stuff, rather than the alternative .
I am tempted to buy this book as I found the campaign tremendously entertaining

Haha at people expecting a media outlet as big as a national news station to not have some kind of bias. Great thing about Fox is it's the only one with a conservative bias. To listen to CNN and the major network news channels you'd think Obama's presidency isn't the flop it is and it must be all Bush's fault none of his ridiculous schemes have worked. |

So it isn't.
Fox lost that case. First satire is strongly protected and the court found it to be clearly satire. Second, because it is such a common phrase, the judge found it to be a weak trademark at best. So, for instance, you cannot trademark (say) "What's up?" because it is in common usage.
Palin is a joke and Faux Noise is joke. They were made for each other. Only surprised it took so long.

sometimes I think "News" should be a protected term, like doctor. you should only be allowed to call yourself news if you fulfilled certain requirements.
on the other hand... that's a bit stronghanded.

This really.
Righties that think Fox News is unbiased, and Lefties that think.. well everyone else (including NPR/BBC) are unbiased, really need a swift kick in the fork.
News isn't biased people. Listen to Fox, then listen to CNN, then realize the truth is somewhere in the middle of the two. ♥

People on the right seem to think truth has a liberal bias. It doesn't.

Agreed. Only the information both sides agree on can be considered close to reality. Everything else needs more independent verifications.
Edit: You will also need to cut out the subjectivication from the news items to get to the raw information. --------

Anything from a subjective point of view is biased... Which typically means all news has bias.
The only difference is what kind and how much bias(ie fox being right and nbc being left).
Also IBTL.

What Fox does goes way beyond "bias", and it's not just about the extreme political position of their most well known commentators, or their mishandling and disregard for factual reality: for instance, Scott McClellan, the former White House press secretary under Bush, admitted point blank on a televised interview that they had been routinely feeding talking points to Fox News talking-heads. Or Fox being one of the main promoters behind the "Tea Party" and their demonstrations.
You can claim all day that there's "bias" in all journalism, but you are missing (or evading) the point: Fox News is not even doing "journalism", it's political activism disguised as "news".

Nice one, though that case did not invalidate that trademark in general ("Chin said that it was 'unlikely a valid trademark. ... The mark is a weak one as trademarks go.' "). _____________________
