Karmae, your accusing JF of starting the Great Northern War is historical revisionism in itself.
Evoloution had allready began fighting you, then left the area. The war was resumed by Reikoku. Jericho Fraction and Evoloution quickly joined the fight, but it was Reikoku who pulled the trigger.
The rest of your post is about as accurate. Oh, and paranoid in the extreme.
AvanCade, the irony of the situation hasn't escaped me either. The difference is that CFS wanted to control it's own stations, and FU was responding to a what they saw as a wholy external threat.

Oh but Maya you are forgetting how:
Irrelevent/insignificant/unscrupulous/manipulating/destructive/horrible
We are.
Clearly anyone should be able to see that the Forsaken Empire and their allies would never misinform anyone about anything.
Dash it! We almost got anyway with conquering the world too if it wasn't for those pesky kids

ROFLMAO...............First FE didn't want Venal/Tenal/Branch...............they are 3 of the most abhored regions in all of Eve,why do people fight over them? Your guess is as good as mine, personally imo out of all of the northern territories Outer Ring and Cloud Ring are economically superior. The reason FE was raiding you is simple they hated Jade and they just didn't like VA/NVA. This ALL comes from the mouth of a Pillar so anyone who says differently can stfu cuz you really don't know what you are talking about.
Heaven forbid someone would start a war over something as petty as boredom and a distaste for someone . Some times the simplest answer is the truest one. And thank you Jasmine for being a fan of Orwell.

awwww thank you Lucian, nice to be appreciated. You know I wouldn't mind if some of these rousing condemnations we tend to attract actually turned into fun battles from time to time but of course they have absolutely zero impact in space. Its actually quite annoying having corporate ethics and rules of engagement sometimes too, for my money we should probably kill everyone and let god sort it out (but I think Atandros might strangle me and I'd regret being a mass murderer in the morning).
Ah well I suppose its back to feeding the hungry of PB in my spaceship the JFS "insignificant" (don't worry those aren't guns because we never fight, they are just odd looking sensor arrays and heavily modified veldspar sucking beams).

I'd agree with Lucian on this.
When you're a pirate, raiding comes naturally. Especially if you have a home. Raiding their home and making think think defensive is a GREAT idea.
Of course, if you overdo it that can also backfire... (witness the first fall of the F-E)

The down fall of every Empire is its inability to resupply its troops and to coordinate effectively it gerth in a fashion that best mantains continuity. THEMM and FE are perfect examples of this, they both had a massive ammount of people skilled and unskilled and were in their own ways unable to resupply to the approrpriate level.
Once you breach 200+ people in corp it becomes increasingly hard to manage the corp as one entity and thus necesitates braking the corp into several smaller ones so as those of like minds can each persuse their gaming desires individually and as a whole when need be.

The really funny thing is how its the people that get annoyed and ranty that don't seem to understand those things Lucian and Maya: Empires and alliances need to raid or their fighters get bored. Thats all there is too it. No need for all the unpleasantness just good old honest combat would be better. I think when the tale of Eve is written thats all anyone needs to know. All wars happen from boredom. I wonder if Jericho Fraction gets singled out as manipulating intrigue masters (albeit irrelevent ones) just because we actually have the honesty to admit that? All else is spin and propaganda really.
Damnnit thoughtful posting people you are damaging my airhead rep!

Edited by: Lucian Alucard on 24/11/2004 19:23:05 Well in therory if FE/TPS had a massive recruitment drive they could mine and supply their fleet and would have only one alliance in game that could give them a problem and thats BoB. Both are the two most talented pvp alliances ingame,TPS/FE get over looked now adays due to what I can best describe as a slow military and economic build up. When TPS/FE are able to blob war effectively again like they were back in the begining of this year I think the north will be a very intresting place to live. And I think now if they became that powerful again we could have fights that pushed local well abovr 300. CCP you took a day to deploy Exodus I hope you fixed the issuses cuz if not I for see ALOT of node deaths.

True Mac but when your usually on the side that gets jumped in on in tthe blob fight you get less lag and thus more kills. The one thing I learned by watching you guys fight is how to manipulate lag to your advantage and gain sickening amounts of kills. The waiting is mind numbing but thats why I have HL2 and TS. Sit in a ts chat room go and do what your commander says and wait for the tards who aren't listening to fall in line and the play HL2 or some other game and when they do minimize the window and go fight. You get to hear everything thats going on and when you are needed you can quickly respond.

Originally by: Maya Rkell Karmae, your accusing JF of starting the Great Northern War is historical revisionism in itself.
I'm not accusing JF of starting the whole war. JF did, however, take an instrumental role in the planning of who should be recruited to the cause, propaganda, tactics and so on a long long time before war broke out. This is old news, but it's still the case. My point is that JF heavily influenced the decisions of two alliances and a great number of other corps that had, as far as I can see, NOTHING to benefit from a war in the north. Developments since the outbreak of war has proved that they have indeed received no benefits from such action.
Quote: Evoloution had allready began fighting you, then left the area. The war was resumed by Reikoku. Jericho Fraction and Evoloution quickly joined the fight, but it was Reikoku who pulled the trigger.
Agreed. That is pretty much as things happened. Evolutions reasons for leaving the early war are likely to be known but to only a few members of Evolution themselves. However, I can say this. RKK were not up in Venal/Tenal/Branch and as such are unlikely to know any other reasons for Evolution leaving as that released to them by SirMolle/Shrike. RKK are unlikely to know anything of the combat 2 weeks prior to Evolution leaving the area. I can honestly say that I was there virtually the whole time and can understand why Evolution chose to find a new hunting ground (CA space).
Stated reasons for RKK to go to war with the PA has also been discussed and argued for a long time on these forums [The squabbling in Tribute].
I was fortunate enough to have seen the provocation and propaganda spewing from RKK against PA many weeks before the Tribute incidents occured and open hostilities erupted. Although the RKK provocation was isolated incidents, they did follow a trend and it was no major surprise to the PA that war was brewing. Reikoku, however, could be accused of duplicitous behaviour at the time due to their claims of PA piracy, when RKK themselves openly attacked 'neutral' (noobie) mining corps at the time. (Anyone remember Sturmgrenadier?)
Quote: The rest of your post is about as accurate. Oh, and paranoid in the extreme.
Don't agree. From the released (and captured) chat logs from JF site and forums it was evident that JF/RKK were both planning an attack on the PA together, and drumming up support. That is fair enough, you had pilots bored since F-E had largely left the game at the time leaving you short of targets. Again this is old news and not much to be gained from covering this old nugget again.
The point I am making in all of the above posts is that Jericho, after dragging alliances that had little or nothing to gain from a war, under a fantastic tale of oppresion and sinister ambition, has essentially left their 'friends' out in the cold. Now more than ever their 'friends' in NSA and FU (granted that FU is not the same one that entered the war) need some support from the monster that JF helped to create.
JF will not help them.
RKK, whilst also claiming to be NSA's friends (I'm not sure you still claim that of FU), have at least committed fully to their side of the battle. For that I respect you, although I do not agree with how you decide to turn on your 'friends'.
I have nothing but contempt for JF for the following reasons:
1) Their thin veil of reasons to attack and induce others to fight the PA. If they still stand by their original principles then they turn a MAJOR blind eye towards other 'territorial mineral cartels' they consider friends. They cannot simply just admit that they do not like PA and will do everything in their power to turn others against us.
2) Their refusal to aid the weaker alliance or (against their general principles) stand with the big boys.
They have as much of a role in the creation of NSA's current misery as RKK do. At least RKK have picked a side to fight for.
