Edited by: DangerosoDavo on 13/01/2010 12:29:10 Ive been looking for a few hours now and cannot find any applets for eve-online for the logitech G15/G19 Keyboards, it would be awesome to see eve online making use of that LCD screen to display Fleet information/fitting information/maybe overview information/Ship Stats/Market/Ship Previews/Chat, would help de clutter the UI and make it look REALLY cool imo. Would be really good to see more of the graphics and less of the UI at times and i want to get one of these keyboards and it would be cool to make full use of it on my favourite game.
Would be good to see you guys at CCP add client support for these keyboards. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboards/keyboard/devices/4956&cl=us,en
If there is already support and i dont know can plz someone point me to an applet. _______________________________________________ Regards Davo |

I have the original G15 keyboard, and while it might in theory be cool to have Eve info on the keyboard LCD, it wouldn't work in practice.
The LCD is too small to show anything other than stuff like your current cap/shields/armor/hull, but that is already represented in a pretty compact manner in the UI.
What would you want it to actually display?
Btw, it is extremely useful when using third party voice apps (Vent, Teamspeak, etc) which have plugins for the G15.

Best thing CCP could do is add some more shortcuts so I could use my macro board properly. Things like "jump", "approach", "set orbit distance", "keep distance" and so on.
Most I've ever been able to use my G13 for with this game is "reload".

Then you need to get creative. I have G keys set up to order drones to attack, orbit me, dock up... also I have G keys to activate all of my modules. No need to use alt/cntl/etc.

I usually hide my non-activating modules, so I can move most everything up onto the F1-F8 row. The drone commands are useful, but aside from that, there's not much.

It's called "playing" a game, not to "macro" a game.

I see what you did there, but it's a long way between desiring more menu shortcuts and writing a script to play the game for me. =P

EVEMon supports it; you can have training time and im sure multiple other api related widgets. That's about it though.
You could get creative & find the RAM pointers for whatever you want & make your own g15 app, though. As much as I ♥ my g15, I'd rather the ccp devs keep working on ways to break eve than support a niche peripheral.

Stuff like beeing able to macro "jump", "approach" and "keep distance" will clearly not enable you to have a macro play the game for you.

Bump, i now have one of these keyboards and it would be cool if you would make eve compatiable with it and make everyone with these keyboards very happy.
G19 ftw, expensive though. _______________________________________________ Regards Davo |

Didn't Logitech release the SDK along with the first generation G15 to make creating scripts for it easier?
I almost always have vent on mine and don't really have any idea what data from the client I would need that requires me to look away from the screen proper.
