I just went back there (to 9-980U to be exact) using a JC to get rid of stuff I had stuck there, and "AAA Citizens" has sov, but it appears seriously deserted.
If I remember correctly, LV, back in the days, built about 11 stations in the Tenerifis area, but it looks like a ghost town now :(
It looks like owning "dead" space seems to remain profitable even if there is no one there utilizing that space (i.e. renters), and even after the dominion system upgrade requirements.
I don't know, it just seems like such a waste. I'm sure that other systems in 0.0 have a similar situation.

Most regions and PL are dead but fun is still happening in Delve and somewhere up north, you could always just inade them, this game needs more invasions and drama

I dont want to give away inteligence on certain powerblock I am part of.
But yea, most stations are not realy used too often, one or two station are used primarly as a market hub and other activitys (they have names that are pretty discriptive). The other stations dont have too many people, and the realy remote fronter ones you can find empty.
Of course its good to own stations just because, they could be of value to someone else not because they are necicarly valuable to you, other then renting. Its mostly e-peen.
But having lots of extra space at low density and exclusive makes it better for scaning things.

9-9 was usually deserted when we owned it, too. its an important access point for omist and part of tenerifis though so has strategic value.

It's one reason why I hope CCP hurries up and gets the rental contracts/agreement system setup and in place. It'll make renting out individual systems easier for large alliance's. They'll be able to rent those empty systems to small alliance's/large corps, and make isk off of it, while still allowing the little guys a chance to get a leg up in 0.0.
Think of it. All the major power blocks have many station systems, and hundreds of empty systems that are doing nothing in 0.0. They'll then be able to rent them out and make isk. I'll love the day when I can look at a map, and see 300-400 small alliance's in 0. instead of the few dozen major powerblocks we see now.

Edited by: Hsan Evets on 18/01/2010 02:23:55 I don't know about AAA, but that reminds me of Solar and xxdeathxxdeathxx...
Once upon a time the drone regions were a prosperous and friendly area full of happy go lucky sorts looking to make a home of their own in 0.0. Most station systems had 10-30 people snuggled warmly by the fire every night. People gave a friendly wave to anybody passing by and everybody's pockets were brimming with drone goo.
Then the evil oppressors that are Solar Fleet and xdeath murdered and pillaged (carebears are too ugly to ****) until they scared all the good and honourable people away. I returned a few months later to evac some assets and the only people in space was 1 or 2 renting ratters per system, even the station systems.
It was a little sad, but what can you do. It's just how it works, to the victors go the spoils and all that. I wouldn't have it any other way.
