Is it possible to transport rigged ships via courier contract as long as the assembled ship volume does not exceed the maximum volume of a contract as well as the cargo capacity of your freighter?

Should be possible, but have not tried it myself. After the Orca nerf it's the only way to move rigged BS around the empire afterall if you can't fly it.

Orca Nerf? Please Explain.
The orca has never been able to carry a battleship in it's ship bay, deliberatly so.

The only way you can fit rigged (or assembled for that matter) ships in a freighter is to courrier contract them. As long as they fit.
You cannot just put even an assembled shuttle in a freighter. It will tell you something like "assembled ships don't fit in freighters".

Edited by: Shana Matika on 18/01/2010 14:56:26 It's not possible to carry an assembled ship inside the cargo hold of a ship!
But you could put an assembled ship into the Orca Corp Hangar Array!
Contract: Good question...didn't they limit the max-size for those cause of this?

Originally by: Trvaeler with freighters, rigged or assembled ships can only be moved in a courier contract
this is correct

I can confirm that Red Frog Freight regularly moves rigged ships in courier contracts. This has always been true, but the increase in the courier volume has made it possible to move rigged battlecruisers and battleships. |

Is it possible to contract a ship back to yourself to be able to move it in a freighter (of course if you own a freighter)?

No, you cannot assign contracts to yourself (I've tried this before). The best you can do is either assign the contract to an alt or a corp member and have that person deliver it, or trade it to them, have them make the contract assigned to you, and trade it back afterwards. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of.

A recent change allowed courier contracts to exceed 120,000 m3 (which limited you to cruisers and below). I'm not sure what the new limit is, but it's much bigger and allows battleships.
You can make a courier contract to your alt (or a trusted friend), then trade the package back to yourself for shipment.

The new limit is just under 1 million cubic meters. Amazingly, the limit is the exact size of a Charon if the pilot has Caldari Freighter V. Convenient, isn't it? ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Also convenient that the max capacity of the Charon is just slightly below the size of any capital ship, so that you can't whack a carrier (or any other cap ship) in the hold and bring it into high-sec. ______________________ Agony Unleashed Home of the PvP University. |
