Ever been in game playing and missed an IPO because it sold before you got around to reading the forums? Want to get quick feedback on an item but don't feel like having to discuss in a chat channel?
I just created the Market Alerts mailing list. Please keep mails in the distro on-topic. Repeated spamming or abuse of the mailing list will result in the offender being blocked from the list.
Purpose:
To announce IPO/BOND discussion or solicitation threads
To request Auditor help
To request advice on 3rd party lockdown etc.
Access: Public currently... if abused it will go invite only.

Hopefully folks releasing bonds and IPO's will make use of it. It'd be a very nice way of getting the word out to those who are truly interested in such things quickly.
We'll see how it goes :)

With the chat windows bug still in effect, this will be much easier to deal with than having one or two more tabs active; Those I can bring up as needed.

Is it "right" for me to use this if I want to announce that I'm interested in buying shares for currently running ventures? (Made a thread here recently wanting to acquire Jidsale and LYII shares).

Yeah I would think posting a link to a thread that you are interested in buying shares in existing IPO/Bonds would be in the spirit of the list. I have no problems with it at all. The idea is so that folks can get information on MD updates in a timely and efficient manner that doesn't require them to stare at the SCC/whatever channel all day long. I know I certainly don't have time to monitor it every second... most of the time I'm far too busy keeping my guys alive in fleet ops to worry about what's flashing in SCC lounge but I always have time to check mails at least shortly after they come in.

Bumping this! I believe this mailing list was how I managed to get the attention of some shareholders to contact and sell their shares to me. I would like to see more venture managers announce their offers through here as well and point it to their thread.

Yeah I'd like to see it catch on too. It really could be a big help to bond/ipo offerings and investors alike. Rather than just getting those who are constantly on the forums you can reach a wider audience once this gets on. Thus diversifying your investor base, possibly getting a broader range of opinions/ideas on offerings and a bit quicker response time. And, obviously, on the investor side of the house folks will have a way of catching IPO's that slip off the front page before they have a chance to get in on them.

With the Advent of CCP's sudden habit of moving MD threads to sell orders (where they quickly get lost in the trash) please make use of this resource to advertise your offerings so that others who would be interested in such things can find them more easily.
I'd recommend still making your posts in MD. If we keep posting them in MD hopefully CCP will eventually get a clue and realize they don't belong in sell orders. But if you post a link to the thread we'll all be able to find it no matter where they move it.

This mail list is still going strong, it has a long list of members but few posts. I am beginning to post some info there myself.
Investees would do good to advertise their IPO on there, you reach a lot of people directly.
