CTRL + click either orbit or keep at execute the "at current distance" function.
CTRL + click on approach execute an extend. It makes you fly directly away.
Thoughts?

I like it. I don't know that I'd use the "extend" maneuver very often, but I often find myself zipping clumsily through the contextual menu to get to that "orbit at current range" or "keep at current range" command. This is a good idea, and seems like a simple fix.

You'll use extend to get away from a smartbombing ship, for one, and to increase distance between you and anything you see fit in the quickest and most efficient manner possible.

I use the extend Idea quite a bit when flying cloaky ships. I use keep at range set to 1000 km. Works well for those who want to use that trick.

I can add something to that:
If a target is 250 km away and you press the button where "approach" normaly is there is message telling you "u cannot warp to a hostile target cuz it has to be in the same fleet" and the ship stops. Instead, it should just approach the target even if it is not possible to warp to it. That buggers me for months now.

I think only their laptops still rely on the ctrl key to right-click. Just use the alt key or shift, then.
