Dad - I'm from Yorkshire in England (that's not pronounced Yorkshire its York-sha) Yank - You speak good English, where did you learn it?
We don't speak english, we left england, we speak american. We're both right in our own country. :)
Now its my county's language use it right or I'll start calling it "the Big Arple" and "Washingstone DC"

You complain but still you use lower case "i" when it should be "I". So you should spell the last sentence "My eyes bleed everytime I see them"

Armor, Color, and Honor are correct spellings.
Saying it aloud as "ARM-OR" results in the correct pronunciation.
American English is as valid as English English. In fact, Americans (up until the early 20th century) was considered (by many) to speak a more pure form of the language than the dialect which was prevalent in Britain at the time.

Surprisingly for someone who insists on using correct spelling and grammar in SMM messages (I've also been known to correct memos at work from higher powers and explain to them why their use of language is terrible), many of the examples here don't bother me so much when written.
The spoken ones annoy me more when I'm on voice comms. "Megathoron", is my current berserk button for no particular reason.
As for the whole US/UK english debate? Since the game goes with US spellings, I use those for module names (since they are named nouns) and UK spellings (since that's where I am from) for all other instances. This is the correct way for us Brit***s to be doing it. Putting the 'irate' into 'Pirate' |

I think this is reasonable. I hate the arguments between the two sides and I think we just need to view them as very distinct dialects. Both are equally valid in their own context.

The colour-sans-"U" spelling and spelling "-ise" as "-ize" were invented by Noah Webster, while compiling a dictionary of standard "American" words. The misspelling was intentionally introduced as a way of further distancing the terrorist faction from the British Empire.
Wikipedia says it's because "As a spelling reformer, Webster believed that English spelling rules were unnecessarily complex"
Dumbing things down so the masses can more easily comprehend them - hmm where have we seen that before
There's nothing wrong with complexity--needless complexity can be a problem, though.
There is no need for all those extra letters. They don't affect the pronunciation--in fact, given the way they're pronounced, it makes more sense without them. To me, "colour" reads as "col-oohr", while "centre" looks like "centruh" to me. Obviously, I'm biased, growing up and living in the US, but based on all the other words I know in the English language, the spelling vs pronunciation of those words seem off to me.
If you're alluding to 1984, that was different--getting rid of most words, would lose all the descriptive words with their subtle shades of meaning. "Superb" is not the same as doubleplusgood, for instance.
Changing the spelling of French-derived words so that they're free of extraneous letters and actually look the way they sound is something else entirely, whether you think it was the right thing or not.

I claim the "Trasher" is intentional. Best name adaptation for a destroyer (which doesn't exactly destroy much except for the pilot's own wallet).
