I think it is down to personal preference but the Curse is more gang orientated where as the Pilgrim is an awesome solo machine, that's my views though and others may beg to differ.
I would definately train Recon 5 prior to training for the Pally, I can fly both so if you just want to mission then go for the Pally, once thats done train for the Pilgrim (While training you'll be making money missioning). But if you are asking for the Curse / Pilgrim then maybe you'll be wanting to PVP, in which case you'll forget all about the Pally :)
Yup, that is my predicament, pretty much. But I see missioning just as a means to an end, which would be pvp. Still I'd like to know whether a Pally is really such a huge improvement over my Abaddon for lvl 4's. If not, I'll switch training to recons asap.

If you have T2 pulse, you'll see a moderate improvement, since you can switch to tachs and deal more damage at most ranges, in addition to the increased ease of looting/salvaging which will improve your isk/hr. If you don't have t2 large guns, you'll see a huge improvement, since best named tachs are leagues better than named pulse for missioning.
Note also that it's cheaper to fit a PVP BS than it is to fit a recon once you account for insurance. ________________

Thanks Terianna. Much appreciated. I guess I fall in the 'huge improvement category' :)

Harbinger. From the ships i fly i think harbi got the longest list of ships that i can expect to beat, and if i fail in that it's very cheap to replace

For pvp a MP Abaddon. Huge buffer, huge gank, great range for gate/station camping, and it's has that, "oh ****" factor.

Abaddon. Insane tank, solid dps, easy fitting, extra utility mid (point/booster/eccm/mwd for me). Not to mention enough drone bay for me to field mediums and lights... <3 ________

Ignoring it's pew pew abilities, it is a really solid tackler for gangs (it has three mids as opposed to the Saders two, which helps). It works really well as a forward tackler because of that nice armour resist bonus. Also, as a Khanid boat it looks better then every other inty <3. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

I wasn't bashing the ship per say just the weapon system. Though if I am using a tackling inty I much prefer the stiletto.

The Punisher, Arbitrator and Omen if you have good fitting skills are all decent combat ships imo.
The Omen is really a gang only boat. Arbitrator is good in a gang or solo. Punisher is less good all round than the rifter and much more limited but not without it's charms (and by charms I mean a lot of HP and cap).
Then there's the obvious stuff. <3 my Zeal, <3 my Curse. Both terrific gang boats. The Pilgrim I am less convinced by. Harbinger is a big sexy beast and workable solo or in gangs.

For level 4s I prefer Abaddon. It has an awesome tank, and with (almost) full tachy rack, the DPS is awesome.
When doing levels 3s I fly my trusted Damnation. Not really a mission ship perhaps, but it has the awesomest tank thanks to it's generous base resists and it can withstand full room aggro in virtually any lvl 3 you can imagine. And it's DPS is quite sufficient to eat anything you encounter.
I also fly my old navy Apoc sometimes, T2 pulse are almost as sexy as the tachy rack, with the added bonus of tracking.
As for other ships, the punisher is a great little frig. Favorite cruiser is Omen. Next ship in line is Paladin, just need to get the funds together.
I have heard lots of good stuff about the harbringer but I haven't tried it myself. After reading this thread though, I think I'm gonna get me one to see for myself.

My favourite Amarr ship to fly is the Sacrilege HAC. It quickly flys through level 3 missions and is a great ship for running complexes. My second choice the Vengeance which I use for lvl 2 missions and running errands.

Harbinger and Curse are my favourites - A neuting Curse is quite a nightmare for any ship that goes up against it, it's just mad how much cap it can neut with Recon ships V. Harbinger because it's relatively easy and cheap to fly, yet it's very strong. It looks good too.
