Great, I managed to collect things from a couple constellations to get it under 1MB, but now I don't have to worry about picking up from stations that wont fill my hold to stay under the limit. Thanks!
I've got another idea for you, this time regarding the Market Data page, though it's not critical, and I'm not even sure if it's possible. If you can get the price history data for an item, and calculate an average number of units traded per day (excluding outliers, over some period of time, for instance a month), then, in addition to reporting the profit per item and profit percent, you could have a column for the profit per day if you bought all items at the assumed price. Or, to put it in mathematical terms, multiply the average number of items traded per day by the number reported in the profit per item column. Obviously, you will probably never get that maximum theoretical profit, due to competition and other factors, such as not buying region wide. Despite it being far from perfect, I still do this calculation manually (though I just eyeball the number traded per day rather than averaging) before I decide to trade in an item, as while the error is huge, there is still a noticeable correlation.
I hope that makes sense. Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

Oh! I forgot to add, it would also be convenient to have volume data incorporated into the Market Data page. For instance, profit/volume and (mineral value)/volume. I have discovered (usually after I've bought a ton of them and find they fill my hold really quick) that some items, though reasonably profitable otherwise, take way too much cargo space for what they're worth. An example is the Large Remote Armor Repair System, which I can buy a large number of at a reasonable profit, but at 50m3, and only worth about 30k each, they're not always worth hauling. Of course, examples exist at the small end of the spectrum too, such as ship and cargo scanners.

*** 0.22 is out with new market competition tool ***
Big news today. I've release a new tool that will help you to analyse how orders from other people are performing in your markets. Read more about it here. Please send feedback and let me know how this works for you. -- EVE Trade Master - Web based market analysis, asset- and order tracking. |

Edited by: PlowMe on 10/05/2010 16:28:57 I move modules from a large hub to a minor hub and resell them. The character who buys and the character who sells are different characters.
What I want to see is profit/time (accounting for sales tax, broker's fees etc), ideally broken down by item type so that I could see what items are making me good ISK and which aren't. Is it possible to find this information using this application?

This is a great tool. I do have one bug report/question. I can't get Eve Trade Master to properly update data on a new character added since initial import of my data. I had a trade alt on this account named "X" who existed at the time of initial data import into Eve Trade Master. Last week I deleted "X" and created a new character named "X" (same name, new character). Even after deleting my API key, purging data, and trying to update character data by fetching from API, I am unable to obtain any market/asset/etc information about the new incarnation of "X" - I get a "Failed" status. When I attempt to refresh character data from API in the Settings screen, the corporation of the previous incarnation of "X" is still listed, which leads me to believe that Eve Trade Master may be checking for changes in character names before doing an update, or otherwise not properly flushing account data or updating character information on the account when character names have not changed. Any insights?

@Maxx Overseer Implement support for corp data is on top of my list and one of the next thinks to start with.
@PlowMe You can use the order history analysis feature, it should work fine for the described strategy. Read how it works here. Just make sure to select "Profits by Transactions".
@Nin Kasi Thanks for reporting this. The character update from the settings page didn't work for you scenario (although the char name isn't used here..). I've fixed it, please give it a try.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Still not working - I tried various permutations of deleting and re-adding API key, purging API data, and re-fetching "Your characters" data on the settings screen. Problem persists - old corp information for character "X" is still listed, and get a "Failed" error when I try to fetch market/journal information for that character. It seems like information about my characters is persisting through deletion of the API key.
I would suggest adding a 'purge all character data' option to the settings screen, both to address this problem, and to ease the fears of potential users that you're holding on to our data even after we delete account information from the app.

Hi,
I can't seem to get the Market data & Competition sections to work. I get this error when I try to load in the market logs:
An Error Occured Could not parse file. Please make sure to provide a valid market export file.
Any ideas? Thanks!

@oiusodoff Are you sure you uploaded market logs and not your market orders list? The file name must match a certain pattern: region-item-yyyy.mm.dd timestamp.txt If you could send me the username that you use with ETM I would be able to consult the log files for further details of your case. -- EVE Trade Master - Web based market analysis, asset- and order tracking. |

Just found this tool, and it seems to me like it is incredibly valuable for traders. I have yet to understand some of the things in there, but I think thats more due to me not reading the documentation.
Thanks for everything!

The Order's page refuses to load for me and has been this way for the last 2 days. As far as I can tell the other pages still work fine.
When it IS working and I have it set to Profit - Jita Eve Central. What are number's it lists? Total isk value at jita prices of each commodity I've sold?

All of you who had problems loading market orders please give the current version a try and let me know.
*** Update 0.23 ***
I've added basic support for corp data. You can now pull in corp data using the API credentials of the selected character. I strongly recommend to use either char or corp data for a single character cause theres no way to tell char from corp data once loaded. Use the 'purge data' feature from the setting if you want to start over. Further improvements will be considered based on feedback and general interest working with corp data in ETM.

Several minor improvements and a word from the developer - 17 Jun 2010
I just finished with some minor improvements, such as the new 'Best deals only' filter options for sell order on the market data page. Also, while working with the market competion page I've realised that the item type selection would become quite large and I gets harder to find the items I like to watch. Therefor I've added the number of uploaded logs for each item type within the last 7 days after the type name.
As ETM is now available since several months, I'd like to take the time to thank everyone who gave it a try and spoke out their feedback in the forums. The number of people who signed up and trusted me their full api key is really impressive. Currently the site is getting about 3-6 new members per day which is much more than I expected. I'll continue to work on this project to make sure ETM earns your trust and will stay on top as one of the best platforms for traders in EVE.
When I started working on ETM I only had vague plans how to monetize it at some time in the future. My initial plan was to create some kind of subscription based fee or even quota based system that would allow you to pay based on how much you use it. Although this would be possible, I decided not to implement such technical restrictions. However, in order to support ETM, I'd like to ask you for your feedback or a donation (see homepage for details) that would help me to keep this service alive and kicking. Much appreciated and happy trading! -- EVE Trade Master - Web based market analysis, asset- and order tracking. |

Hey,
I dont know if thats a bug in your app or in the API, but one of my chars recently (1 week ago or so) changed corp, but his corp is still displayed as the old corp in ETM. When I update the Corp API (He's CEO), I get the data for the new corp, but he stays at the old name. Not a real Problem, but kinda strange I guess.
Other than that: Still a great app, will consider donating once I have re-earned the Iteron V I lost in 0.0 (Standings Issue, killed by blues )

In response to your recent "word": I would appreciate having "decent" google ads if this would be possible. That way we do not have to pay directly, and you get money anyway.
This refers to my next point, AdBlock(Plus)er. I use such tools across the web at websites where ads are radiate my brain cells. On websites which are known as "open source", "private" etc. I would never use them.

afaik, it is possible to ban some keywords in Google AdWords, so you could try to get ISK sellers of that site. always assuming that the ads arent placed by appspot.

Found ISK seller ads, anyway, we do not have to click on "buy ISK". It is not illegal to sell ISK it's against the game's laws, anyway it is business.
Thanks for adding the ads, keep us up2date about your ad income, feel free to increase the amount of ads in a decent way if income drops too badly. =)

@Delagos Please update your list of characters from the settings page. That should show you the current corp of your char.
I've also blacklisted some sites related to isk selling or macro mining from my google ads integration and will continue to do so. The ad listings integration is something I want to give a try to cover the (albeit low) hosting costs. In case stuff listed there will be totally irrelevant or just annoy people it will be removed again.. -- EVE Trade Master - Web based market analysis, asset- and order tracking. |

How does the App fetch data? I mean does the App (Python Code) fetch API etc. Data by itself or do you let the user's browser fetch most data via JavaScript from the API and Eve-central etc?
I wondered, because there was some strange download bar, and some checkboxes with "meta 1, meta 2, Tech II etc.". Shouldn't these things being cached or pre-loaded into a storage on your app? =)

The backend system will proxy requests on eve metric prices for the client. But theres no pre-fetching. The number of items is just to big for that. Also you'll get more recent prices if you pull them on demand. Theres some caching that will kick in once prices have been retrieved, but its really simple. -- EVE Trade Master - Web based market analysis, asset- and order tracking. |

Hi Ivy, First I like your program. But i have a question. Is it right that with the market competition tool you only get the buy orders not the sell orders. If so, why? WouldnŠt it be nice to see the sell orders too?
