A pirate corp to eventually join. Right now I'm running solo for the time being until I get trained in the stuff that I want in order to be viable. I'm in no rush and just wanted to test the waters out a bit.

I'd prefer 18+ that does not require vent. I have personal reason for this which I will explain before joining someones corp.

If all you do is primarily gate camp I'm not interested.

I'm a virgo, like long walks on the beach yadda yadda.

Contact me in game on Torgron and we can chat. Have fun and ty.

gl finding a pirate corp that doesn't use voice comms, maybe you should join a mining corp?

No offense, but a pirate corp without some sort of voice comm software is going to be a pretty big failure. Ability to communicate on the fly during heated combat always gives people the extended advantage over the enemy, and when you're talking about skilled flyers it's imperative.

Ah let me specify a bit more. I can listen in without a problem, just speaking myself would not be happening.

You still need to be able to communicate effectively, and typing in EVE in response to things said on vent A) gets your people killed and B) is really really awkward for the people who are using voice.

Maybe the OP is a girl and doesnt want to go on voice because everyone will probably start being immature about it.

I don't see the problem. In most fleets the only people talking should be the FC and the scout. Everyone else generally stays quiet so the FC can communicate primaries etc.

 So...

This is for large scale fleet battles, and your example is only because of the amount of people in these fleets, would be stupid having 50 + talking over themselves. When you're talking about small to medium sized fleets that a lot of regular pirating crews roll around in, communication between the members is much more important, as the targets are fewer and information need to be fed back between each individual so they know how to counter it.

In huge fleet battles, the commander need only explain who are MT, and who needs to be disabling what, this is organizational based PvP....any other way for large fleet PvP would result in severe loses, but this doesn't apply the same way with smaller fleets imo.

Do you? Do you really? Normally, when I respond to these ads, I go for a walk with them for a few hours or so, then they start complaining about being tired or cold. When I say I like long walks, I mean BRING A TENT. Originally by: Uggins I'm a virgo, like long walks on the beach yadda yadda.

Its going to be rather difficult for you to find a GOOD pvp corp that will be able to work around your disability.

Not being able to communicate vocally is going to get someone killed, hands down.

Now, that being said, maybe you could work out a system that could work.

Vent has the ability to broadcast wave files with hotkeys. You could have someone record some common phases like "local spike" "point" "Lost point" "In warp" "warping out". ( Having the voice of a female record this in an appealing tone might score browney points )

This would allow you to communicate some of the more vital information that cant wait for text.

If you could at least do those things, could put damage on the target, and not get me killed Id fly with ya. Convo this character if you would like to discuss this idea further.

This is not an offer to fly with my corp. Hell, Im lucky they allow me to hang around :)

A lot of the time you just need to STFU and listen to the FC, although in small gangs, where everyone tends to do the belt hunting, scanning down targets etc... then you do need to be able to communicate to a degree. In text comms, if you roll with a regular bunch you can have codewords or shortened phrases for things like "target within Planet 2 area" or "warp to me NOW, TIII pointed" or whatever. It's not ideal, and top tier pvp corporations probably won't accept you, but others will be more forgiving.

Gotta say that comms are a must for small pirate gangs. When you're flying with a fleet of 5 guys you know and trust you can do some damage. Otherwise your fleet will die to the inevitable CVA (or other blobby alliance) blobfest.

Proper comms mean the difference between losing a ship and killing a couple navy megas. Even if you sound like a douche, use comms m8.
I apologize for having one of those sigs...Sorry.

there are very few times when your not FC or a scout tat you HAVE to talk on comms. You just need to be able to listen and do what the fc says. trust me the fc doesnt need to hear that you just saw another ship warp into the fight. you just need headphones to listen.
