Just wanted to start a different thread that wasn't moaning about how bad exodus is (when CCP have actually done a pretty excellent job).
We see all these different characters names in the game but don't really know what they mean?
For instance the name i chose is Gilthanas. This was taken from a book called Dragons of Autumn Twilight.
Gilthanas is an Elf chracter from the book.
Feel free to post what your names mean and where you got them from

Skarsnik - taken from Games Workshops Warhammer - Skarsnik is a Goblin Shaman - with a sidekick Squig called Gobbla 
Edit - Forgot to mention - I too am sick of the complaaints we need more Positive comments around here

Used this name when I started playing Transport Tycoon back in the 90's. Been using it ever since in all games.

Long ago I played Freespace 2, the most kickass space combat sim ever. In this game there was a torpedo called the Helios, the most powerful in the game. I was looking for a new name, and figured I'd replace the H with an X and there you have it.
BTW when I made this name no one else had it, now you see it pop up here and there. It's either really me, or someone who stole my name

Mine's from a series of book's by Raymond E. Feist, Kelewan is actually the name of a planet, but I thought it had a nice ring to it.

Lufio doesn't have any special meanings. I created this one a few years back in another Game, which was a diablo like MMORPG.
I am now known as Lufio II because it's the 2nd incarnation in a space flight simulation MMOG...

 mine just came outta the space between my ears.
i wanted something quite imperial, monarch like, dont ask me how i came up with thane (which of course became Phane) for that.
but that would of sounded a bit ***er than my name does anyway, and i wanted a bit of a modern "out of this world" twist to it so somehow came up with phios. and thats the name ive been using ever since.
i like it, it bassically says im a imperial like bastard with power isses while secretly been a star trek nerd

I cook more than any of my uni flat mates*. Put together. And multiplied by 2. So they called my Master Chef, or Chef for short.
* Its not that hard though, their cooking involves toast and noodles.

Alida means "small winged one" and Armida means "small armed one" So the name in total means "small winged armed one" which was what I originally inteded my character to be, a small fast fighter. But the economy in Eve being the way it is, I have gotten into other areas so I can keep myself above water financially.
My alt, Cala Quendi, is from Tolkien. I was reading the Silmarillion when I named her. Calaquendi is one of the sub-groups of Elves. They were the ones who came to live with the Valar and so the name means "Elves of Light"
