most of eve - up to 2/3bil
people that farm/hoard/individual hard working making isk up to 10/20bil
alliance holdrs/ moon goo holders / old player farmer of static plexs and officer hunters/and those that had isk to spend isk on market changes due to ccp 'updates/changes/nerfs to 500bil
those that have more that that, really... what is the point, its a game! spend it or give it away to have FUN!
we are talking liquid, not assests! and ofc,
most people get isk and blow it on stuff because we all like shiny ships! some get isk to have isk, some get isk to make more isk. Class wise; Your based on your name on the circles you fly in. Isk dosen;t give you a class! |

If you can afford to fit and fly a 2.5 billion mission ship, then you are rich.
I'd consider players buying 100+b BPOs rich, or players that seriously risk officer fit PvP ships, or these third parties getting 250m for two minutes of holding some money. But that's me.

Yes,
It's just a freighter loss with assorted stuff - the reason that looks like a 150b loss is because it's counting all the BPC's as BPO's (unless he really was flying with 19 Apoc BPO's etc etc, but I think we can pretty safely discount that.
If you take those values out it's not a biggie at all.

When Blueprints are stacked on a KM they are BPOs so yes the apocs etc are BPOs..

With close to 10bn in assets I don't feel rich at all.
With my income it's enough to cover my day to day PvP losses if I fly T2 fit BCs and I'm not a complete idiot. I do need to improve my flying a bit before I start flying T2 ships though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- you seem determined to turn it into ******* Hollyoaks for neckbeards. |

If you have a net worth of 10 billion and you're afraid of flying tech 2 ships, you either lose way, way too many ships, or you're careful at just pathological levels. ----- 'In Eve, as in real life, if you are bored it's your own fault.' |

I think it's more about your capacity to make isk than how much you actually have in your wallet.
If I have 5b but it took me the last year of solid isk grinding to make it, then even a few hundred mill loss could hurt. But if I can consistently rake in 1b a week and only have 500m in my wallet, it's not like loosing 250m would hurt anything.

This reminds me of a Chris Rock standup. Rich is nothing, you can lose rich in a summer and a coke habit. Its the wealthy people that are important. What is the difference?
Shaq is rich, the guy who signs Shaq's checks is wealthy.
Rich means you have a lot of money. Wealthy means you know how to make your money work for you. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

No, they're clearly BPCs.
Not only is it screamingly obvious from the quantities that they are BPC's but if you look through the list you will find "stacked" BPC's for which there is no corresponding BPO in game (the storyline gear, for example).
So not-even-remotely-as-ouch as you believed.

Considering the recent tech prospecting post dominion there's a lot of people that have turned 5b into 200 + b ISK so there's definitely a lot of better off individuals in game now.
1b ISK is a ludicrously easy achievement. 5b doesn't take much effort. I'd say 20b in personal combined liquid and assets is starting to look decent. Ultimately it really depends who you are and what your needs are in game 'everything is relative'. ~

Edited by: Leaving Eve on 20/02/2010 23:11:36 Seeing as I'm Leaving Eve, I don't need the 2.5b in cash, the faction fit CNR, Rattlesnake & Nightmare. I fit each with the faction mods in the theme of the ship.
I also don't need the 50m a day passive income I generate even without logging in. Nor the increase to ~300m a day should I choose to "work at it". My other assorted assets are also worthless in the grand scheme of things.
In short, I'm jolly rich. If you send me isk, I will send you 3x back! I am Leaving Eve, after all.

I feel it is all relative. Me personally, I think being rich is being able to play for free and still get blown up. Basically my goals are to make double the price of a plex a month. Before I knew it I am 100b in assets.

ISK is worthless people.
Real wealth is in assets.
T2 BPO's. Unique ships. (Opux Luxury Yacht )
ISK inflates over time, rare items and T2 bpos do not.

"Rich" is not a number, it's a state of mind You can be rich with 10 mil ISK, you can be not rich with 10 bil ISK, it all depends on the person holding them.

Originally by: voogru ISK inflates over time
Terminology nitpick : ISK usually deflates, it's item prices that usually inflate. If ISK would inflate over time, that would mean the value of ISK goes up, in other words stuff gets cheaper, and it would be a good thing for holders of ISK.
ISK inflation is the creation of ISK out of thin air. ISK comes from the EVE central bank. ISK also goes back to the central bank.
But if ISK comes in faster than it goes out, you begin inflating the currency.
More supply of ISK, value of ISK goes down, prices of the items go up.
If CCP suddenly gave every person playing EVE 100 billion ISK, you would see the prices of everything explode.

I'd say that isk has inflated, but everything else has inflated faster. as such Voogru's inflation comment is correct, yet we have wittnessed deflation relative to mineral values and such, so Akita T is right too.
and I'm probably just in an altered state of mind.

I know what you meant, we all do. It's just that you're using a rather improper terminology. What you're describing is indeed generally called inflation, but it's not really proper to call it "ISK inflation".
You were using "ISK inflation" to mean "ISK volume increase", when that term would much more likely imply a sense of "ISK value increase", which is the exact opposite. Or, in other words, you were not qualifying which one of the two you meant, "ISK value inflation" or "ISK volume inflation"... almost nobody does, even if those things are not even direct opposites (they seem so at first sight, but they're really not - you can have both at the same time, you can neither, or you can have one but not the other).
To keep it simple, only use the following two : "price inflation/deflation" and "ISK volume increase/decrease". Avoid using "ISK inflation/deflation" like the plague, unless you specify which of the two you mean, volume or value.
Like I said, just a minor terminology nitpicking in the grand scheme of things, but it annoys the hell out of me whenever I see it.
