Huff Technologies declared war on one corp which subsequently joined an alliance.
Should we pay more to fight the alliance?
Should the war have been cancelled?
Should the corp be stopped from joining an alliance if it has existing wars?
I don't know. All I know is that I am fed up of people claiming we are fighting an alliance 'on the cheap' so we can get easy empire kills.
We didn't choose to fight an alliance ... although it is good fun. 
(On a side note, the war could not be retracted, so that would not have been a solution)

I think you missed a bit - the war could not be ended.
We are perfectly happy to fight.
It would be unfair for the price to increase in this situation.
The corp we are at war with joined an alliance, and that alliance accepted them (and I assume they knew of their war status). They should be willing to accept the consequences of their alliance.
Effectively the corp which joined the alliance has made all the other corps in that alliance declare war on us .. maybe the alliance should be picking up the tab?
