So we've had an Incarna teaser trailer last year, but Tyrannis is the order of the day for the summer expansion. Does anyone else find it a little disappointing that CCP are still putting off Incarna after hyping it up last year? -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

I've been disappointed for a couple of years, they've been dangling walking in stations for around 4 years. However word is it is the Winter Expansion to coincide with the release of the FPS game that ties into EVE, it appears based on what little they've released this could be a lead in expansion of planetary items so that they are in place for when Dusk 514 comes out so there is something for the mercs to do.
Thoughts expressed are mine and mine alone. They do not necessarily reflect my alliances thoughts.

At fanfest CCP said they were aiming Incarna for release this winter and not summer and Plantary interaction was due out in the summer expansion.
I'm more than happy to wait for Incarna from what they said in the presentations WiS is using alot of new technology that havent been used in other games to make it more spectacular. IIRC one example was light that actually "bounces" around a room taking the colour of the surface with it, so a green wall with a down light will give the room a green glow.
On time meh WiS or Late but very shiny WiS
Shiny wins everytime

What are you talking about?
Last year they already pointed out the roadmap: winter 2009 -> dominion, summer 2010 -> planetary interaction, winter 2010 -> incarna/walking in stations |

What is the matter with all you people going on and on and on about Incarna, you really want to walk around and play dress-up?

Haha wow look how cool and edgy you are! Because I'm sure that CCP are not going to put anything other than clothing in to Incarna, right? That's what you're telling us? Just clothes?

IMO Incarna will come shortly after Dust. It would make sense to reuse the core engine, at least clientside. _____

Yes, but if there's anything we're used to with Incarna it's disappointments.

Yes just clothes...that's it!! Incarna is nothing more than a glorified virtual fashion show with out the coke addicts and cotton wool eating supermodels (the best bits imo).
It will not provide the basis for strategic battle planning on fancy displays, it will not have bars, corp/alliance/shop fronts, interactive NPC agents, it will not widen the appeal of a niche game and it certainly wont make being camped in a station more interesting.

Incarna ...
I am really EAGER to see those minigames there.
It would be totally AWESOME if CCP would make a starcraft clone as minigame available in Incarna.
That alone would be worth it!

as as die hard pvp'r and serious manufacturer(carebear w/teeth) I seriously hope you are just talking smack. Pretty much everything you said that won't be in incarna will be there including:
purchasing bars w/ controllable npc servants.
Eventual if not immediate actual face to face meetings with dust players in stations
a whole slew of other neat stuff that will, at the very LEAST make docking a new experience.
What a lot of you guys don't understand is this:
1. More subject matter = more immersion. Put simply more stuff to do. Will it be something you like? Who cares what you or I like as long as it provides depth. Eventually they will get around to putting content into the game you like and in time you may find the once dull content invigorating.
2. Incarna is an initial step. Alot of what ccp is doing has a purpose. Planetary farmville as some of you call it will eventually tie into the fps dust. Incarna will tie in as well.
Epic sh!*.
Some of you probably are of the I want it now thinking. Example being..."I wanna shoot people in stations otherwise it's just the su*k." or "if I have to mine a planet it sucks unless I can enter orbit and shell that bitc* i'm competing with into oblivion."
to that I only can say patience is a virtue and so is not being such a nim rod on forums about how free content sucks. |

Tyrannis is the first probably of many necessary patches to allow CCP further develop the whole planetary interaction planned for Incarna.
with Dust 514 planned to be linked into Eve some time in the future existing planets will need to have infrastructure on them. So while we will be building up our new colonies, ccp will be measuring the extra loads on servers to determine which aspects need boosting so that when Dust 514 is eventually merged the game wont grind to a halt due to insane lag.

Ah, but they say they will add all these things, but by the time it's been pre-nerfed, and all the things they did't have time to code left out, it will end up just clothes.
And maybe mirrors.
Possibly, the new 'Tailoring' skill
Maybe.

Clothing is really the only thing they've mentioned for it.
Please share with us what ambulation features they've announced.
If you sit down and read it we knownothing about ambulation. They have not released a game design. Not a single feature has been announced.
All the hype is based on wishful thinking.

First, it's not free content. Second, it's an internet spaceship game - I like my 'free content' to be about.. you know, internet spaceships.
