CCP probably makes more money when people play with PLEXs. Remember, someone pays for all those PLEXs. Protip: It isn't CCP.
Every single PLEX costs about the same as a 1 month month-to-month sub. This is more per month than someone would pay if they purchased 3, 6, etc months at a time. For CCP, PLEXs have the advantages of all that game-time purchased in advance - but at a higher price. Not a bad deal for them. --------------

No that is not at all how pricing works ... take econ 101.

As well, they don't need money to buy new computers. They need income to repay the loans. Businesses rarely use liquid assets to make capital expenditures.
No again. That is not how corporate financing work. Actually loans are cheaper from the companies perpective then having owners who want ROI. Also finaincing is a miniscule expense. If you compare them against eachother it would be completley overshadowed by operating expenses in any company that isn't entierly missmanaged.

Paying top isk or will trade for a Nobel prize.
Perhaps a more interesting (and realistic) way to discuss this is to ask, "what are you willing to give up to get a solution that scales better?"
do it in O(0)! yay quantum computing

Nice - a bit less than what I'd guessed re turnover (300k x 15 x 12) but very not bad. Retaining 10% of profits is prudent and not excessive tbh.

Edited by: T''ealk O''Neil on 04/03/2010 08:50:24 A large part of the recent server deaths I should imagine have either been due to large scale fights not being announced to CCP (and so wasn't added to a dedicated blade) and/or alliances who don't want to win by conventional methods, and do their best to lag out the node in order to win
