I will never understand the point of making a FPS for joysticks, therefore I'm all for the PC port of DUST.

I want it badly, if it releases on the pc, i will buy so ill have 2 long term relationships with mmos instead of just EVE. 
Then with WoD one day, ill have 3 mmos to play, all from my beloved company CCP, no other gives me the satisfaction, persistency and evolution in a game than CCP.

there IS a solution to this...possibly...if you WANTED to go that route...*shifty eyes*
1) wait until 4+ months after Dust is released and some person invents a way for a Dust ROM to connect to the cluster
2) Download an X-box 360/PS3 Emulator
3) Download the Dust ROM
4) Do the connecty things to connect to the console gamers
5) leave the consolers playing with their control sticks while your keyboard and mouse pwn them
6) ???
7) Profit
Note that if I remember my laws correctly ROMs ARE legal, but ONLY if you have a physical copy of the software.
ex I at one point in my life had a Golden Sun 1 ROM (and loved it btw, still do, 'specially with GS 3 coming out!), but I had a copy of the physical cartridge.
IIRC you can have a "digital backup." or something like that.
12) CCP closes the loophole, and the PC Dust Pirates whinge and complain before finding some other way to get in.
13) Profit
20) CCP closes yet ANOTHER loophole
21a) Break Down and buy an X-box 360 OR
21b) Ragequit
22a) work for a week or two to pay off the X-box/PS3/game
22b) whinge on the forums about not being able to play the way you used to
23a) play the game the way it's meant to be played
23b) STFU and go back to mining/missioning/pwning noobs/etc
25) ???
26) Profit

This, tbh. I personally would love it if it came out on the PC, but let's be realistic here: it's not going to happen. It would directly contradict CCP's stated goals for the project.
By the time it does happen A PS/3 or 360 is gonna be pretty cheap anyway.

Im 50/50 MMO/FPS player. Like everyone else in this post I dont play console games for 1 reason, the controler and controls suck beyond belief when compared to a pc. I'll admit there are a ton of awesome games for them so props there, but my god that controler is awful. PC FPS are top notch no doubt but theyre all just so shallow when compare to the potential of Dust.
Signed for the simple fact Id LOVE a PC port to play an FPS with depth, though I doubt it'll ever happen.

PS I'll admit Dust is the one and only game that has me considering purchasing an xbox/ps. But I'm gonna need to be blown away.
