It is sort of stupid if you think about it. The players should be the damage dealers and the POS should be the defense. The way this sounds is the defenders just sit inside their shields and loot the cans of the armada once the sentrys have done their work. CCP is a little bit sentry centric it seems

Also note these things take an insane amount of very rare resources to operate. There was likely more than one cannon. Considering players can anchor a whole bunch of cannons, I see no cause to complain when you get destroyed by them. You can't complain they are doing too much damage overall because they deal balanced damage singly and players know they can position a bunch of them together.
In short, don't attack a space station -_-;.

There was likely more than one cannon. Considering players can anchor a whole bunch of cannons, I see no cause to complain when you get destroyed by them. You can't complain they are doing too much damage overall because they deal balanced damage singly and players know they can position a bunch of them together.
In short, don't attack a space station -_-;.

yeah small ones would be like 50 mill and take about as much damage as 2 or 3 battleships, but only being able too operate some things and do some thing's.

so.... u attack a starbase worth more than you ship is... which needs heaps of fuel and maintenance to keep going... and is bristling with weapons made to destroy long range battleships... and u attacked it alone....

believe me if you could destroy or have even a slight chance of attacking NPC items... they would be so uber that it would take over 200+ ships to take one down im sure... and that would be with heavy losses.
but since you cant, and it does nothing... the sentry guns are weak enough... so that players dont get pwned so bad just for a mistake...

that is at about 35 % shield: 625 HP EACH SECOND restored
now dont forget the reinforced mode which starts at 25% shield amount.
k this would get too complicated lets see how long it would take to get a control tower into reinforced mode:
lets say you attack with a fleet of 100 Battleships... (not even sure if the server handles that yet)
lets say you are at a range of 100km... each BS does about 150 dmg each second... at this range ... now lets say the tower has an average resistance of 60%
results in 150 x 100 / 100 * 40 = 6000 dmg each second
at 25% the shield capacity would be 12,5 mill HP
now 37 500 000 / 6000 = 6250 seconds = 104 minutes
So it would take a fleet of 100 Battleships to shoot for 104 minutes at the control tower to get it into reinforced mode
now lets take the defence into account: lets say the defence is capable to gank one ship each 15 secs ...
that means after 25 mins our whole fleet would be ganked...
uhm lets not forget that the enemy could have a fleet of his own for defence???
How long would the reinfroced mode last??? afaik as long as you have consumeables available... so lets say about for another hour...
so we are up to 104 mins + 60 mins: = 164 mins for a fleet of 100 Battleships
while on the other hand the defence is capable to destroy this same fleet in 25 mins with the only the pos defence!
so lets say a fleet of 200 Battleships needs about 100 mins... but it would last only 50 mins
so uhm
you actually need a fleet of more than 400 Battleships to take this **** down... with about 80% losses
now honeslty no wonder you couldnt handle it on your own .
So atm POS is INVULNERABLE cuz there is no way that any node can handle 400 palyers...
well dunno why but think that the only way that POS will be killed is through the medievel (sp?) ways (lay siege to the system for a looooong period) -------------------

you didnt take into account that as you lose ships your firepower decreases. At those numbers it is impossible to kill a station with 400 bships. you will take 100% loses and probably wont even get it into reinforced mode.

yep only way is to wait till thei run out of their ice, then the force field goes down and you can attack the sentries
but still sentries will pwn your fleet heavily
cause medium guns already do up to 2000 damage per shot Wanna fly with me?
