And going with a guy who isn't you just because he has a car? Alarm bells are ringing mate. Realistically you should ditch her just for this.
What you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WANT TO DO is carry on being a p*ssy in this relationship, letting her walk all over you and do **** with other guys while you chase after her and apologize for existing. If you go down that road you will become obsessed, become stuck, and at your age will change your outlook on women for the rest of your life. Putting yourself in such a position will actually damage your ability to competently deal with women later on. Trust me, I've been through all this, and had to re-learn being a man after I was turned into a complete p*ssy.
This is some very good advice, listen to it. I had pretty much the same thing happen to me, and after she realised she could actually lose me, she turned around and we¦re happily together ever since, and she¦s even the mother of my beautiful son. 
Should have read page 2, anyway, good choice IMO.
Oh and btw, she might come back for you, after the prom and giving him a very good night, then you¦ve got another interesting choice on your hands, if you can deal with the jealousy it¦s actually a good thing for the realationship cause it puts you in the position of control. Although you might be a bid young to be willing to deal with this kinda ****, when there¦s a good change the relationship won¦t even last that long anyway.
