I keep getting disconnected (by which I mean every time I try to connect or have been connected for a few minutes) and usually end up being told that the connection to the server has been lost.
There are over 11k users on ATM so I assume it's not a server-side issue. Up until about 4-ish I could connect fine (lag aside) but now I repeatedly either get stuck at Character Selection or I CTD. Upgrading to the optional patch hasn't helped.
Anyone else on NTL having this problem?
I can't understand why this game has suddenly gone from being accessible (but laggy) to just unplayable - anyone able to identify the problem?

I'm talking to a friend in the Lincoln area who is using NTL and she's not reporting any problems.

Check for spyware/adware.
My friend says she has this NTL auto-updater software which sometimes starts up to update her connection software? Maybe it's that?

Not so sure it's NTL at all, mate. I've got a VERY similar problem (Manchester and Nildram ADSL) disco's after a few mins with a 'connection to server has been lost.'

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.
I checked the spyware/virus situation earlier (around 5pm) and did find one of each, which I eliminated - but it's made no difference.
I don't run the NTL software (it's pap) so it can't be that.
Using Ping Plotter to trace the route to 157.157.139.10 (which I believe is the server IP) I'm seeing a LOT of packet loss, both here and in Iceland.
I don't get this when tracing the route to myeve.eve-online.com (resolves to 163.63.214.198) though, even though the route to the game server seems to go via this IP
There seems to be a slight difference in the second hop in the route both traces take (last 3 digits are different) - wonder if it might be that?
Suddenly I feel very old and tired...

Sounds like its flapping (the route to the server is changing frequently). This is something that any server hosted on Clueless & Witless is prone to - due to varying factors including their refusal to peer in a sensible manner. Iceland Telecom (AIUI) has some fiscal connection to C&W and CCP use Iceland Telecom so there we go.
I'll point out again that nobody in their right mind uses C&W (London) for hosting which is latency/route sensitive due to the abysmally poor peering. Except CCP - who use Iceland Telecom who use C&W.
No consolation for you I'm afraid

Slightly away from the point, You know in jan that all NTL services are being boosted -
300k - 1mb 4 Gig monthly cap 750k - 2mb 30 gig monthly cap 1.5mb - 3mb 50gig monthly cap
No extra costs, except for a ú25 charge for upgrading this helps spread the cost for people who need to update from a PACE box to a Samsung box. The pace can only handle 1.5 mb

Same prob here mate, im with NTL in Leeds. Takes about an hour for the character selection screen to load, then if it doesnt crash there and then, it crashes shortly after I get into the game, with the 'connection lost' message popping up. I also get various messages when trying to log in, including timeouts, and the 'odds are you are not conected to the internet, the server is not running...'. I was getting this problem every single night just before shiva went live, but not since until this afternoon, and I still cant get on now to start a skill training at 2:40am lol :(

I'm in Leeds, too, so it could well be a local problem...
Route to the server is still very bad at the moment, so I don't expect to be playing any time soon.
Thanks for all the replies, btw.
