Anyone know if it's possible for a small corp to get some piece of 0.0 wihtout joining a dam alliance?
Like CA own loads but like most alliances just guard the entrances, and i would have thought this claiming system stuff would have put out some 0.0 for newer corps to get some action.

you could try to sneak into pureblind area, theres some crokite in ec-p8r (a death trap 75% of the time) and dark orchre a in a few systems around it, not sure what your looking for, but you might be able to find some stuff in an around syndicate or purblind. If your just looking for npc's thats tons easier, but if your looking to setup a "home" system ehh good luck there

It's not allways about how many you are.
But trying to claim 0.0 space without being in an alliance is very hard.
To be in 0.0 you gotta fight or have someone to do it for you.
a good rule might be: if you can't handle low sec empire then your simply not ready for 0.0
I'm not claiming to better than anyone, I'm just trying to do the best, that I can.

Being that its 0.0 space, I'd be curious why a small corp would even WANT to try and claim a part of it without joining an alliance? If you don't join an alliance you're all alone when it comes to defending yourself. Thats the reason alliances exist, mutual defence. Someones going to come along at some point and fire at you, for no reason whatsoever, and then you won't have any friends to help.
Seems a little suicidal.

Well, getting your own station in 0.0 space isn't hard to do with a small corp. Ask the NSA who has controlled the station in VFK the last three days in the evening EVE-time.
It's really just a matter of good organisation and balls. (Oh, and fitting damage mods instead of warp cores help too ) ---

Edited by: Shirei on 29/11/2004 11:59:38 Aridia and Solitude aren't really 0.0, or are they?
However, I wouldn't completely forget Pure Blind. It also has a few a bit more quiet places apart from the obvious deathtraps in EC-P8R and X-70.
A few weeks ago, people would have suggested CFS space (Querious, Delve, Period Basis) for something like this, but there was some unrest there lately. I'm not sure, if it has calmed down already, but possibly some the alliances now living there might still be friendly to guests, if you contact them.
If you don't mind being associated with YARRR-y types, Tribute/Vale could also be an option, but it is controlled by TPS who demand a refining fee and should in theory leave you alone, if you arrange something with them.

Im glad atleast out efforts are siphoning down to the people that matter.
For a small corp to get time in 0.0 without being a virtual slave to some other player is tough. Mostly its because of the pathetic soviergnty they think they have over entire regions. Most of which is barren and untouched. Some of those alliances are 1.5k+ and I'd say 90% of thier systems are untouched.
The response you got here with the exception of a few posts, is a typical one. As in "We will let you go into this part of the game for a price becuase we are here."
Pay them no heed. That type of behavior is in my opinion lower than the ore thief. Dont bend to it. Its a childish "I own the sandbox" mentality.
Reason why Pure Blind is suggested to you is becuase Jericho Fraction with the help of its neighbors is making an attempt to make it work without having idoits say "I OWN THIS PLANET BECAUSE I SEE IT"..
I will warn you, Freespace is not safe entirely. There are pirates that will nail yeah. Dont let it discourage you becuase most of them tend to share the love more towards thier closed space counterparts.
Come to think of it, many of the territorial alliances consider us pirates simply because we co-exsist with them.
Anyways, there are several ways into Pure Blind. Remember that. x-7o is probally the safest place in the region due to the fact the system is swiss chess and makes gate camps next to impossible.
You and your corperation is welcomed up here. Most people are civil enough not to shoot you if you are neutral to them so long you arent aggressive.
If you want to talk more with the other residence in the region there, come to our forums. Introduce yourself and we will help you out.
And remember, just because they are in an alliance. does not give the the right to prevent your movement and conduct good business. -------------------------- Vist the Jericho Fraction Forums

With 0.0 it is not that hard for a small corp like yours to move around but once you get settled in a system with say 5+ people there all the time that is when things get nasty. When a big alliance sees a blob they send people to check it out. If they find you there in their space they will kill you over and over till you leave. I will not be to easy to claim space since an alliance can and will send many, many people down to "nicely" ask you to move. ___________________________________________________

Yes rather annoying, need to start a vote to get that sorted , 1 region could support a alliance easy.

Depends which area you go to. Pure Blind and the regions west of it aren't held by a strong force (you just run into small fleets from 20 different factions). It would be almost impossible to actually setup as a true neutral, because most people in 0.0 will shoot any neutral they see (even I do ). But it wouldnt be that hard to find a faction you can get along with and work out some kind of deal with them, which would most likely be military assistance. If you don't want to PvP do not try to setup in 0.0.
To start off I would find one of the 0.5 systems close to 0.0 and just mount ops from there. --------------------------------------------------

Let me get this right you wonna start a vote.
okay let me see, so the vote says an alliance can only claim one region? (I'm presuming that. you can correct me if I'm wrong :D)
so all most of the empire players will vote yes, and most of the alliance players will vote no. (again I'm presuming that. :D)
okay now you want ccp to enforce this? I don't think that is likely in anyways, but let's presume this happens.
Don't you think the alliance would make small alliance which will allmost look like the corp's we have now? (alliance of maybe 2-5 corps or however it fit)
I think more of the system would be used by the alliance players if they weren't attack but random corps and other alliance's all the time.
all regions control by alliance' is keeped by force so you can just say gimme some of your land?
I you want it, I think you'll need to fight for it.
and what is so bad about being in an alliance??
