Kelduum Revaan wrote:I've still been quite active when I can however, providing input/feedback on the CSM forum and Skype channel, as well as other routes, as I'm sure my fellow CSMers will confirm. Weren't you the People's Candidate? Wasn't it your platform to represent every player (not just E-Uni)? So, shouldn't you be a tad more visible? Blog posts? Forum posts? Podcast appearances?
As a previous poster mentioned, you fit a three day trip to Iceland into your schedule, why not a one-two hour podcast?
Maybe folks don't want to go on your word alone that you do stuff, or have other CSM members have to confirm that you do stuff. Maybe we'd like to hear from the horse's mouth what exactly it is they do?
Based on how you disappeared from the public as soon as you won your seat, it would appear that you do about as much work as Darius III. Now if that is not true, then you should get on some soapboxes and let people know. The STAIN Travel Bookmark Collection - 451 Bookmarks |

This is pretty much what I expected of Kelduum. Visible and active until he won his seat, then he disappears back into managing his own corp, his CSM just a feather in his cap, rather than something he actually cares about.
(I don't bring the Russians into this, because of the language barrier. They are likely quite active and available to their countrymen.)

It is my view that working on the production of the minutes is the price you pay for actually getting to go to Iceland, and that if you don't go, any work you do is done out of the goodness of your heart.
You will note that Hans, Alek and Issler did not go to Iceland, yet all have done work on the minutes -- and Hans and Alek also attended many sessions via teleconference.
I believe you should keep that in mind next election season. The Sarcasm is Strong with Me GÇó Member of CSM 5-7 GÇó Blog |

As with any form of reporting, there is a balance between timeliness and accuracy. The former is pretty much out the window.
There is a real possibility the minutes will no longer be meaningful at this rate, whether due to topics no longer relevant (stuff fixed) or ideas already implemented.
For future's sake, figure out how to publish the minutes in a reasonably timely manner or the csm summit risks becoming inconsequential to the player base and the game as a whole.
The cool thing about this summit is that CCP spent most of it talking about plans for Winter Expansion and beyond, rather than reviewing all the stuff that's already going to be released. So while historically your fears might be justified, these minutes should be released with details of CCP's Winter plans, before they've actually begin the work on the Winter Expansion. This is a huge step forward, because it means that they should be quite useful for players providing feedback in a timely fashion. Vice Secretary of the 7th Council of Stellar Management.

Like a boss
Can you start releases them each day one at a time in the future? it's always crazy getting 3 days all at once, information overload. it would be cool if in future years bringing up the idea of staged releases, getting info out both faster, and spread out over time.?
might just be a daft suggestion but I felt the need to make it :P http://dl.eve-files.com/media/1206/scimi.jpg |

I have no complaints about the amount of work that Kelduum (for example) has been doing, and the circumstances that prevented him from doing more work on the minutes were entirely reasonable. The Sarcasm is Strong with Me GÇó Member of CSM 5-7 GÇó Blog |

We're still right where we were as of Two step's last comment. Waiting on CCP for approval of the final session. (Remember they're mostly on vacation, so we're stuck harassing people that aren't even in the office about this) Once that happens, the CSM needs like 24-48 hours to read through the final edition ourselves before release.
It'll be a few more days, at least.

What?? No, CCP doesn't take 2 month vacations. This is just a matter of timing. CCP was leaving on vacation right as we were wrapping up the minutes. There's not really much that could have been done to prevent this, no one's created minutes like these before, so there was no way for either the CSM or CCP to predict how long it would take. On a more serious note on the subject; why do you guys put up with CSM people who do nothing? Also what does CCP have to say about this? We, the players, would really like you to name those responsible for the minutes taking two months to deliver and more importantly, contribute little to nothing in the process of being a CSM representative. |

At this point, I don't think that there is a process for removing CSM members who are not doing as much as others. How much can you really expect though from a volunteer group? When you are balancing work, family, friends, Eve enjoyment for yourself, and the volunteer tasks, how can the playerbase expect much when volunteer tasks would be pretty far down the list of priorities?
The playerbase can only vote in people based on what they say and it is easier to say a lot than to do a lot. |

Oh come on. It's not had to out someone who has contributed little to nothing in the process. Also if your plate is already full with other obligations and you want to run for CSM too; you deserve to be ejected after it becomes obvious you have no time for it. "yeah but they are busy with other stuff so it's ok" is a bullshit excuse no one should except. |
