There is an NPC in a mission you're advised not to shoot. Shooting it yields two items in the wreck whose info panel details how the organisation that NPC was a part of came into being. I think the NPC in question is the Komni Envoy.

There are a couple of Monolith in missions I have seen.
Also look at the description of VIP's. Very import people like game developers.
I do think the best ones are the named target painters.
Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

Tons and tons of little ones all over the place...
Oh and one other little one, the 5th race is ranked number 1 compared to the other 4.
