Confirming that I received notice of an additional 5000 shares being created (even though corp info still shows 5000 shares total) and receipt of 2500 of those shares.

Corp info doesn't show total shares, but only how many shares were created with the most recent share creation vote. If you want to know the actual total number of shares of a corp, you'll have to go through the vote history.

Yeah, sadly the share creation mechanics are among some of the more atrocious corp mechanics, but by pre-running the creation votes, I think I've managed to bludgeon it into the job I need it to do.

AFAIK Lui Kai neither has outstanding public debts that he could cover with the funds raised through this offering, nor does he plan a series of expansions.

I'm fully aware of what a Ponzi scheme consists of, and how someone as learned as yourself fails to see that this project contains many similar elements is beyond me.
The warning signs for me are:
1.The almost-too-good-to-be-true untapped market (with scant details provided)
2.The good return (although admittedly this is kept within reason)
3.The 'refusal' of a 'private investor' to make it appear as though everything is above board.
Granted there are no plans for any expansion, but I won't be surprised to see a 'due to the success of our first month we are releasing more blocks...' post at some point in the future.
Obviously everything may well be 'on the level', but I retain the right to remain sceptical until proven otherwise.

The only real solution to this one would have been to provide an audit, as providing details myself to the public at large would mean instantly no longer having a point to the investment. I understand the concern with this, though - and that lack of audit is why I've done what I can within the rest of the framework to mitigate worries.

This is kind of a lose-lose proposition. If I offered the kind of abysmal interest rates common to many other offerings, I'd be trying to do it "my way" without offering compensation for that fact - and (understandably) nobody would invest. If I offer a reasonable share of my profit, then it's "too good" and suspicious :p
In all seriousness, though - I detest the typical MD rule-lawyering, and didn't want to go that route. But, since I am asking for other people's money, I had to compensate for that fact somehow - and considered 2/3 of the profit from my work to be more than fair. :)

This is one I can mitigate in the framework I'm comfortable with. I'll go ahead and say here, unequivocally - I will not run another public investment until this one closes. In all honesty, I never really intended to run even one, but the opportunity was there and time-limited, so I decided to give it a try. I can't foresee ever wanting to do this again, but I'll grant that I've been proven wrong on that front before.
I can guarantee, though, that I have no desire to run two of these things at the same time. If I were to propose any public investment, at all, ever, anywhere before the complete and total buyback of this investment - I give everyone the complete and total permission to declare that offering and this one a total scam, and to hunt me to the ends of the earth. I will leave the entire above here, and archived on eve-search once it picks this post up, as a public statement: If some random insanity overcomes me, the universe turns inside out, and I accidentally offer another public investment before this one is bought back - do not invest a single isk, ever.
Hopefully that's sufficient to allay any concerns that I intend the "ramp up" techniques that scammers use.
