Log into an account.
Navigate to test.evegate.com/LogOn/SwitchCharacter/1670632377
Now you can see where he is, what he's in, his SP total, and isk amount.
The character numbers can be pulled from any character picture in EVEGate.

Good catch Benjamin. Unfortunately I don't expect CCP to do anything about it since the data is 2 weeks old. I would create a petition however I'm at work atm. I posted a new topic over in the Assembly Hall hoping someone from the CSM will take notice.

Thank you CCP for taking Eve-Gate down! I look forward to using it again once these security issues have been resolved.

Good catch "BenjaminBarker".
Thank you to CCP for disabling eve gate for the time being. I have no problem with what eve gate could become as it looks promising but we need full control over what people can and can't see. By default most features of eve gate need to be disabled with a full contextual warning whenever you choose to enable them. Standings & Contacts are private data and should be treated as such whether the data is current, 2 weeks old, 2 months old or 2 years old.

Our design is to have almost all of that stuff configurable by you guys in an account settings page so you can decide what you do and do not want to show for yourself (with defaults being set to very safe levels). We just don't have that page done yet, it's tasked for sprint 4 (we're in early sprint 3). We're rolling out a new build now that we will deploy shortly and we will continue to address anything that pops up promptly.
Remember the intent of the test is to beat up the hardware, but obviously we don't want incomplete features exposing any info you want to keep private. The feedback has been invaluable and we really appreciate it.

Again.. this test website is running on our test environment Singularity, it's not your live data. Currently this data is 2 weeks old, and updated roughly every 3 weeks.
The data being two weeks old is besides the point, having contacts available to be viewed without the option to opt-out is unacceptable in a game such as EVE. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that CCP cares as their only response is "this data is 2 weeks old". Thankfully professional companies that hold personal information don't take the same approach with my personal data. I wonder what would happen if Facebook made all friends lists available (even if the list is 2 weeks old) and didn't give the option to opt-out?
Like I said, all of what you've done is cool so far, but leaving the contact lists available on Eve-Gate is a serious lack of concern for your players privacy.
You are taking my reply completely out of context, I was simply replying to a person that was asking why his mail was old. We are listening to your concerns and making adjustments.

This bug has been fixed.
The mutual contacts view has been removed completely at this point pending further work on the privacy settings. Currently only pilots who you have set Excellent(+10) standings towards are able to view your contact list, if you donŠt want them to be able to view who you have on your contact list then set the standings to Good(+5) or lower.
We are taking note of your privacy concerns and working hard to further develop the system so it will best serve the social network of EVE without compromising the privacy of the pilots.

Can a CCP anwser my previous question please -
Will full mail and calander funcitonality be available via the API and if so any idea how long after Beta?
Thanks
Read access for mail and calendar will be available via the API. Write access will not be available via the API. For the Calendar we will also have the ability to export the calendar in the "iCal" open standard allowing import into outlook, Google Calendar, etc.

Allow me to make a prediction...
Unless there will be some sort of API for read AND write access to the calendar, mail and chatter, we'll be seeing applications wrapping around Gate and asking for username and password.

Although I still think the the option should be available to opt-out (even with the alpha) I'll stop complaining as +10 is better than good and above.
One other thing, when settings standings, the option to send notification is selected by default, can this be changed to default to unselected? It would be better to force someone to knowingly send the notification instead of accidentally sending one because they missed clicking that button. If you forget to send one you can just reset the settings, set the new standing again and send out the notification, if it's accidentally sent that can't be undone.

Ok. It now loads on my ps3 without locking it up but won't do anything when I enter my account name and pass in the top field. It just loads another login page that does nothing when I enter the account info again. Am I doing it wrong or is this site not going to be compatable with the ps3 browser?

I would have to agree, Opt-in > Opt-out as far as sharing any kind of information. By default the only thing people who find me on EVE-Gate should see is what they can see in game. My bio, employment history, and current alliance/corp.

Mail: There need to be a button for sending mail to "Corp" and "Alliance". Currently typing in 'Corp' sends it to the player 'Corp' and selecting people from your contacts list is rather difficult with the current method. I'd like to see a method similar to in-game when creating mail. Sending a mail to an address that does not exist does not generate an error but fails silently like so.
Quote: From: Avalon Ranger To: R.I.P.
EVE Status: Remove overlaps text.
Character Sheet: Displayed two different skill point values.
Mailing Lists: You can't delete a mailing list you've created. [Intermittent, may be fixed now]

User that reported the "Profile, mail" etc menu is missing. Stumbled on this myself.
On initial login you get presented with your available toons (3 of in my case) and the large one says select character. You have to click the large avatar/toon image to actually activate them and get into those features.
Not uber clear i agree, but chrome works. Ran into the same visual issue in Opera.

Are you sure you have an active account on our Singularity testing environment? Please remember this has 2 weeks old data. Do you see an error on the second page that loads? something like "User not active" ?

Currently you have a Send Mail button on your corp and alliance profile pages, but we probably should add it to the Add Recipient window as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Actually if dust is going to tie into this site then making sure it works with console browsers in at least a functional level would be a massive plus to marketing it as not all console owners have a computer. Though I'm sure a browser update from sony would go quite far in getting it to work too as the ps3 browser is based on ie6.

EVE Gate first use: I feel the first page (After logging in) need to be updated a little so that it is easier to tell you need to click your characters picture to continue. I know this currently mirrors the client login but I feel some additional text should be required to prompt the user into selecting the appropriate character. First Login:
Logging out and in again after selecting a character.
As you can see it's a little hard to know what's going on and first time users might struggle.
Just another idea to make use of the system easier and may explain why some people complain about not getting access to the other options.

I've seen that somewhere else... with partially trained skills not adding to the overall total in one place, but showing in another.

I'm using my zeba account info and that has an unbroken sub since creation and have tried my other account info with the same result. There are no error statements. I load the intial page with all the graphics fine and enter my info in the top login fields and hit enter or use my mouse to hit the login button. This then takes me to a login page with only the background graphics and an additional login field in the main area. When account info is entered in either of the login fields top or main page and you hit enter or click the button with the mouse nothing happens except the info dissapears.

Hey there, Here's a screen shot of what happens when using the website on a computer with no login details entered. Is this the page you see? Is the text different in anyway?
If not could you provide an image of some sort. That usually helps developers see the problem. A picture tells a 1000 words. Or in this case about 50 but it might help.

That looks exactly like the page it sends me to but there is no error field with that text. Nothing at all in that spot actually as there is no space between the 'EVE gate > Log On' and the 'please enter your....' input box below it.

The PS3 Browsers has a lot of weird support. I has limited JavaScript support and doesn't send HTTP headers to servers etc. It's going to be a while before something like EVE gate is usable by the PS3 unless the issue has something to do with set browser support. The PS3 returns a very weird value for it's browser to servers. I don't know a whole lot but maybe if CCP sent a friendly email to Sony?.. Haha, like that would do anything. Either way most mobile (Modern ones) will be EVE Gate compatible as they run slightly shrunk down versions of the big boys.

Nothing at all in that spot actually as there is no space between the 'EVE gate > Log On' and the 'please enter your....' input box below it. edit. I can't link images as I'm stuck on my ps3 for the moment as my computer literallu went up in flames due to a dying power supply. I was downstairs making some dinner when the fire alarm goes off in my den so I rush up to see smoke and flames billowing out of the back of it. I just thank god I kept it ontop of my desk and not underneath it as that would not have ended well for maybe the entire house. :P So now I'm doing a personal social experiment on how long I can last without a computer in my life and this dratted ps3 browser is pushing the limits of my tolerance. It was great as a chairborne forum whoor device but now as its my only link to teh interwebs its really showing its shortcomings as in it absolutely refuses to use any pagebreaks hence all my recent walls of text..
Thanks for clarifying this :) We'll look into the matter.
