Ok maybe this link isnt new for must of you, but it really gived me the impression CCP its doing everything at their hand to make incarna the irresistible candy of MMO (and just as this example, not everyone can or like candys).
Again heres the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrtwESnTOwY
Now after I saw that my pants were ****ed off by two reasons. First, its too freaking awesome Incarna could have something like that. It even uses a new tech that IDK wich game will use too.
Second, I know that when Incarna gets out and probably use things like that, a LOT of people its going to enter EVE. Some doing it again, some for the first time.
Now as we all know this game isnt for anybody, a lot of people try it and after 3 months or arround they quit, because this game its like a resistance race more than a speed race. So, acording to my gut, many people after incarna its going to enter EVE and many people later are gonna quit it.
So why I am posting this? Simple, EVE right now got like a 300k accounts payed, but most people got two accounts so lets say that arround 150k plays EVE and also most of the time EVE got arround 30k accounts online. We are freaking small, and we need the people.
I know that helping a company for something you are paying right now isnt very lovely but to be honest EVE got a lot more harder to live as most people get bored with the time, and sometimes we live mostly without doing anything inside of this game. Most times the thing that get us inside the game are the friends we make here, the good experiences and the future plans we trow ourselfs to do it. But in the end we will need more people to reach them. Dominion its also pushing us to get more people to actually pay off and be easy to get to 0.0. At the end, what I am trying to say its that before we get the haz yur stuff question at some point of our life because we get sooo bored and it becomes harder to play the game or enjoy it; we can help ourselfs helping those guys who are going to join because of incarna. Getting more people that stays in EVE.
So as a recap, as this post becomes harder to me to actually get a point; Incarna its gonna make EVE bigger but it can only last with the help of us, the EVE community. Also we all need more people to help us get all our corps better and to keep us enjoying this game; so actually the best we can do now its to help the noobs now and then to enjoy the game as we do it. I belive EVE needs and will get freaking great with the more of us playing.
There its gonna be a boom, but its up to the EVE community how its gonna turn itself. So CCP, you could own us a big one. LOL
Post Data: Yeah, I type first and think later, my bad.

Grammar aside, he does have a point.
It would be nice to see some of the EVE players down from their proverbial high-horses for DUST and Incarna.
Yes, there will be smacktards. But there will also be many potential players who should be offered a spot in the growing EVE universe.
This is one of the better gaming communities on the internet, we need to show that off.

Yes, it's good for EVE if more people are coming. More people means more money for CCP, which means more development resources etc. A slow linear growth as it happened with EVE the last years is nearly perfect. But CCP needs to be careful to be able to deal with a sudden influx of a large amount of new subscribers. Just imagine we get over night 150k new accounts (which would be a for a new MMO a rather average result), which would overnight increase new edens population by 50% ...

This isn't a good thing. I've always seen 0.0 as end game and it's all about the group of people you hang out with. It's not supposed to be easy. Yes it sucks when huge power blocks hold large amounts of space or when people invade and there's little to no resistance so you sit there staring at a station or people blob each other but them's the cards. and THAT's something ccp needs to find a fix for.

For me, the difficulty is what makes it fun and the boredom comes when everything's nerfed and simplified down to something ******ed.
In my eyes, industry is already too simple, I mean. goo -> basics -> complex -> t2 component -> t2 stuff isn't difficult especially as the likelyhood of you running the whole chain is slim and most likely, innefficient if you did. --

u do know it takes a bit of power to render just one of those? i dont think ccp would put this on eve because think what your pc act like when trying to render 900+ people in jita?
dont mean to be a dream crusher but i dont think they will put this form of char rendering on eve too much power needed for your pc not just thier servers

and second life - its passed eve. I dunno if it counts though, as a "true" mmo, I mean. It has less game than eve, if thats possible (joke).

Since incarna is going to play only a small role in the Eve universe, is going to be only a little addition to the space game, i wonder why they use so many resources for character animation. Try to do it better than the other mmos where people use avatars for the core game. Why not concentrate on ship details instead ? However, animations of such a detail won't work anyways if you have 50+ people at one spot, too much computing and therefore too much lag.

One question comes to mind: Why do my exotic dancers need a clothsimulation? I mean, a perfect skin shader would do the job quite well.

Because they're going to have to do the work anyway, so why not add it to EVE "for free"?
Originally by: Melthariumin One question comes to mind: Why do my exotic dancers need a clothsimulation? I mean, a perfect skin shader would do the job quite well.
Because a) otherwise they wouldn't be exotic dancers – just regular ones with no clothes on, and b) because the sim also covers hair, by the sounds of it… then again, I suppose skipping that could count as "exotic" as well. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

But on a serious note. Yes its another long awaited facet to be added to the game. Some people like to identify more with an avatar than having a mug shot portrait in chat channels. I can imagine Incarna/walking in stations etc being bare of features at first bu then as time progresses more depth and features get added. Much like with eve in general. If you look down the current path CCP are taking well end up with more of a virtual world than just internet spaceships. And I for one look forward to it.

Yeah it is nice and all, but, the question has to be put into peoples minds, whats in it for the male chars? - Hek, i bet if the simulation was with a guy none of you would like it. That and you would be questioning why is a bloke been made to ware a tightly fitted woman's dress let alone and what was going though the blokes mind at the time who made this simulation!
I'm starting to put too much thought into this and/or gone off track what we we talking about? --------------------------------------------

I don't see what you mean. There will be male clothes. Not everyone out there looks at Incarna as an opportunity to ogle females. Its another immersion factor and can enrich the game. Being able to step out of the pod and socialize between whatever I was doing in space.

Did I miss something here? How did you get from a video of some chick in medieval clothing that CCP made to the EVE community going "boom".
So, if CCP ever get round to making human avatars then hurray we can all walk about in station and feel more immersed. Great. How is this going to make the community go "boom"?
I remember that first time I played EVE and found out I didn't have a human avatar. I was a bit disappointed but it didnt stop me playing.

wrong
to run PhysX properly on an ATI system you need an NV card (8 series with 32 cores and up, and a free 16x pci-e slot), and a "hack" to unlock the possibility of running it, since most NV drivers lock PhysX if you have a non-NV gpu on system. ---

Actually IDK if you understanded me. the first I am saying it would be easy to get to 0.0 if you got more people in your corp/alliance
and the second says that the game becomes harder to play not because of the game itself but because you get stuck to a level and then get bored yourself doing the same things again. Now you get it?
Maybe you dont readed the full post or maybe I dont even writted it well.
