The price is constantly falling, anyone knows when this will stop and what caused it?
What would be better, selling it now all or maybe wait some months?
thx

Would have been better not to buy it in the first place, anyway that's what I said way back when but nobody listened to me then and I doubt you will listen to me now.

Following up, in part, on Claire's comments: Why did you buy it in the first place? Because it's T2 stuff? Because you thought the market was at its lowest? Or was it because you had, or know, a practical use(s) for the material(s)? Before you go in on something know how the hell you are getting out. Asking advice here will get you little in the way of useful guidance and plenty in the way of ridicule. (That's not counting if this is a hype/implode thread.) PS: LOL, I gave you little in the way of useful guidance didn't I?

No, you haven't asked a few simple questions, you have asked a series of SHORT questions. Not quite on par with "what is the meaning of life", but you get the idea. Or maybe you don't. So, when you get a complicated answer, try to act less like a total jerk.
You want a few "simple" answers ? Here's a series of short answers for your short questions then, just for you, in the tone you used, so I assume you like it... ...if you don't like it, you can go back in time to Soviet Russia.

"This will not stop soon, people like you caused it, yes, sell it all now."
You wanted simple answers, not explanations, and that's what you get. Happy now ?

Buy, produce, what's the difference. It sounds like you did the freighter=money thing just with a POS. "OOooooh, I'm a moon mining. WTF?!? Where's my iskies?!?" Originally by: KhneD I have asked a fue simple questions, if youre not able to deliver a answer to them, please dont reply to this thread, thx
No, I don't think so. I'm not going to give you a simple do this or do that. If it goes wrong, which it may, you should be the only responsible for your failure... or success. Because I'm sure that if it does fail you'll be knocking on my door to ***** and moan about it. But if it succeeds, you'll be nowhere in sight. So what you really did was come here thinking you can get a free lunch in the form of "help me out of my self made mess". And the only true help for you is to get you to understand "how" you made the mistake in the first place so that you won't come traipsing back here again dependently looking for someone to do your thinking for you. Le sigh... and people think it is "vacations" that I stay away from these boards so long. My first suggestion is to pull your head out of your 4th point of contact, look around and realize that like everything else help doesn't come free. You may not have to pay much for it, a little respect or civility goes a long way, but nothing gets nothing. Enjoy the fruits, or lack thereof, of what you've invested!

No, i dont see this whole thing as a self made mess, i just came to ask whats up with the prices of it and if its worth to stockpile it. Thats all.
You know what... i didnt came here to be insulted and sent to "soviet times", so i pi** on your opinions, my mistake was even asking something here, i should know it better.

Someone asks two questions in the proper forum, and some of you think it is your right to rip him apart as if you own every inch of this public forum? Bunch of ass*****. He was disrespected first.
Spare me the 'this is EVE' line.. this isn't EVE, this is a public forum to aquire knowledge. Damn elitist stinkin' up the place, can't get enough of the smell of their own farts.
KhneD.. over supply caused it. If you can wait some months, then wait some months til the expansion. There is a big war a coming in the north soon, that may help prices slightly here n there as well.

Towards people that could not have known what they asked, and try to be helpful in forwarding additional information when requested, sure. Towards people that pretty much admit they have no clue yet react negatively when asked for additional information, not really.
Quote: Someone asks two questions in the proper forum, and some of you think it is your right to rip him apart as if you own every inch of this public forum?
He asked what he THOUGHT was a simple question, and got uppity when he was told it's not really a simple question, and there can't be a simple answer.

Carbide reactions have historically sold barely above breakeven for lowsec reacting if you take into account all associated costs, and occasionally even UNDER breakeven. They were briefly catapulted to "quite worthwhile" after the Dominion expansion due to lack of reacting capacity, but that soon started to re-settle as more and more people took it up (and there's a delay from reacting start to product on the market), and nobody that had put some up really bothered to tear it down and repurpose it once profit margins dwindled. Since they're also some of the simplest reaction chains, they're the least likely to keep yielding a good profit margin compared to the rest of the reactions. It is unlikely carbides will ever go up much above their current price (save for a HUGE increase in T2 demand, which is simply not really feasable even if T2 insurance was indeed buffed substantially next patch), or if they do go up, they won't be staying up too long. If T2 demand really became large enough for some obscure reason, it's also highly unlikely that carbides and their corresponding materials will be the ones that will increase in value (possible exception for the Amarr one which contains Platinum, which is paired in alchemy with neodymium, but even that is also unlikely), it's neodymium and technetium based reactions that will go up in price instead, if anything, SIPHONING OUT value from the likes of carbides and such, making them go down in price instead of up. So, no, it won't really do much good to hold onto his carbides for later sales. AND THAT IS ONE VIEWPOINT There are other viewpoints which state pretty much the exact opposite, and there is no 100% agreement in what could/would/should happen next.
But then again, we had already covered all of this months ago in threads with countless pages, [sarcasm]so oh forgive us for not showing so much deserved deferrence to the first random lowsec reaction guy that goes "so why is my stuff selling lower now".[/sarcasm]

A tip that works in RL trading and in game as well: when stuff starts crashing you do not hold it. Leave someone else with the short stick on his hand, don't be the "special one".
Yes you can and WILL incur in losses, and in EvE there's no "take profit" nor "stop loss". As long as you cut in the losses early, you won't be sorry later. Even if it hurts. - Auditing & consulting

Sounds like a veiled threat when people have been trying to help you dispite the fact that you are running your reaction business badly. If you have so much ego invested in what you're doing then you should role play this and continue reacting at a loss.

Nobody's trying to apologize to you, you wannabe reaction magnate. I was merely explaining to Umega why everybody else has a perfectly good excuse to rip into you. Hell will freeze over before I apologize to you for your own rudeness (in which you persist) that I merely mirror and amplify.
Quote: additional info? you never asked me about that.
No, but the two others before me did, in a roundabout way, because they assumed you bought it instead of producing it (not that it makes much of a difference anyway to the sales price, the material doesn't care HOW it was made). Just because you are unable to comprehend just how ridiculously complicated to properly answer your question was doesn't give you the right to go barking that "you want a simple answer to a simple question" without expecting ANY kind of verbal flak thrown back at you.
Quote: But anyways, thx for all the info in the end.
You're welcome, I guess.
Doubt it will be of any use to you though, since it might as well be prices could slightly recover just after you sell your stuff only to crash more later on (so if you sell now you might get less than you could get if you waited a week or two), or they could just keep plummeting without even a slight recovery even after you hold onto your stuff for a long while (so getting rid of them now would be best), and so on and so forth.
The REAL question here however is, should you even bother reacting at all on that, switch reactions, or simply sell the moonmins instead. That's what you should have been asking. And even that isn't a simple question either... nor is the answer the same each passing week.

In that case all complex reaction earn pretty much the same isk/week atm, the only difference is the one you're doing has a better roi than say nanotransistors or fermionic condensates

I love all the market forum elites waving epeens with wild abandon without knowing Fernite Carbide reacts for a 180% profit - over 400m a month. Assuming you buy the goo off the market. That's not failure.
BTW - People ask questions because they DON'T know things. That is what this thing -------> ? is for.

yeah i agree with that statement, even more profit if you don't buy the goo off the market, granted profit margins have dropped by about 10 isk per unit for what im reacting but that's eve and that's how it rolls.

More like 550 mil a month per entire chain, actually. But that's no big deal at all.
Tungsten Carbide for instance comes out at around 800 mil a month, and Fullerides at around 1.1 bil a month the very same way. Other than Fermionic Condensates and Hypersinaptic Fibers (which actually react at a loss, a huge loss for fermionic condensates actually, over half a bil a month loss), every other reaction chain yields at least around 400 mil a month profit that way.
Half a bil a month for an entire reaction chain is not a "wow, working great" thing, it's a "probably time to tear it down, boys" sign (and just keep mining the moonmins)... because if you keep it up, you'll get to the point where FC and HF are right now, or worse.

Wow, there sure seems to be just a few overinflated windbags on this site. Someone asks a simple question and gets pummeled with ridicule. "how dare you ask that question when I've already told people on another thread how stupid they were for using this stuff!"
I for one enjoy it when the prices are low because it's usefult for me to buy. I'm sure I could be making more iskies doing a cookie cutter method that other's would prescribe for me but so what?

Wow, and you dredged up a thread nearly two months old to pass that little gem out of your system ? Oh, and you are under the delusion that it was a simple question even after it was explained that it wasn't ? I guess reading is not your forte either. Yes, I too enjoy when everything is worth near-zero, but only if I'm buying, and only if soon after prices go back up. If you're the one making the stuff, you don't enjoy low prices. The OP was a producer, so he certainly didn't enjoy low prices. Anyway, the OP had asked a few "simple" questions (which weren't simple) and he had gotten a few "simple" answers (which weren't polite). Lo and behold, if you look at current prices, you will realize they were actually the correct answers. What bloody more do you want ?
