Let me correct that for you:
Originally by: RED666 I'm a noob and forgot to upgrade my clone and then got podded. Now I've lost a load of SP because I f**ked up, but nothing is ever my fault so I'm whining about it, claiming it's a broken feature, hence CCP's fault. Maybe they'll agree with me and reimburse me?
Oh and because my previous idea was s**t, I'm also bringing up the legitimate issue with learning skills because everyone agrees that they're silly, even CCP, so my idea would look less like a whine.

1) it is a nice isk sink;
2) remove it an combat losses mean less.
The only option I see to resolve your problem is to make the clone to auto renewal if you have the isk.
I.E. if your wallet balance is positive and large enough the isk are deducted immediately and the clone upgrade to the first clone capable of storing you SP.
Make it a option you can deselect if you don't want to auto renewal the clone and add a warning if your wallet balance is to low and you can't pay.
Easier life for the forgetful even if it make station without a medical service less important.

There has to be risk in a game to give some value to the choices you make. Games without death penalties do not give the feeling of accomplishment when you succeed at something.
Plus it weeds out the stupid and whiney.... as I think you have proven.

Let me answer your questions then:
1. Another demotivating day in eve I got podde * That stuff happens a lot in EVE.
2. Whilst clone was not up to my skillpoints * ThatÆs your own fault.
3. Ye I play EvE for 2 years ye It happend before * It happens to all of us.
4. Ye I allways up my clone but I didn't this time * Not so smart to not to do that.
5. While I was confident that I did * No you just forgot to check it.
6. Now I'm friggin raged by it I feel anger and hate * We can all imagine the feeling.
7. Thetas a dumb stuff explain to me the purpose of tis feature??????? * Well itÆs called the clone system.
Clone System: There are two types of clones in this game.
J-Clones: Jump-Clones * These Clones allow pilots to - Switch to another clone with different implants or NO implants at all. - Move across vast distances in the EVE-universe / Fast Travel.
SP-Clones Skill Point-Clones * These Clones allow pilots to - Be resurrected after a final kill of there POD. - Store there learningÆs we call skills and skill points.
8. And learnings too dumb feature why should a man entering a game spent a month on learnings???? * You are not forced to train learning skills at all. No one trains those in there first month because the first month is all about getting to know the game and enjoying it to the fullest.

Its your own fault for not upgrading your clone and when it happens to people it is awesome! - Especially if your the one that caused it to happen *insert evil laugh here*
Learning skills are the SEX! - Sure a month or so training them, but then they end up saving you MONTHS of training time! --------------------------------------------

1. ISK sink ? I dont think, you can buy 10m sp clone after cca 40 hours of gameplay (and mayby earlier) without hampering your gameplay, and most expansive clone ? It cost 150m - that amoun with that SP you can earn in 2-3 hours, realy big sink.
2. in how many cases ? 1 from 100k ? I view it at relic from past with no real effect today. ------------------------------------------------

Purpose of feature is punishment for death. You either lose up to 5% of total SP (or up to 50% of SP in ur longest skill whichever is smaller) or spend money to upgrade clone. Or there will be no punishment for death (escpecially if u don't have implants) which is bad, cuz there should be one.
Month on learnings, i don't know it never bothered me that much, but it teached me some discipline, and that eve is slow-paced game. If somebody can't wait as long as month for learning of learnings he/she shouldn't play EVE at all... ------------------------------------------------- I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Story time.
My CEO has been playing since 04. Frequently pvping in 0.0, he gets podded fairly frequently. A few times he has simply logged after the podding, and when logged on the next day, forgot to update his clone. Needless to say, the next instance of podding was more sour than normal. Hence, he has had to train BS V 3 times. /storytime
moral of the story: He, unlike you, accepts that it was his fault for not updating after a podding and moves on.

The cost of upgrading your clone is to ensure that people don't abuse "pod-travel" as a means to circumnavigate standard gate travel. It's all fine and good when it's just a few million to jut suicide and end up somewhere else. It's a whole other thing to lost 50+m just to move to another location. Clone prices, and the skill loss for not maintaining those clones is required to maintain balance in travel and is also a small isk sink.

I think it would be cool if we could buy multiple clones at one time. When we're based in a station that has no clone bay, it can be annoying to have to either set your clone to a station far away or clone jump back and forth to re-up the clone. If I could pay in advance and get a stack of five clones ready for me, I could build up my SP security without dodging the isk cost or turning off the feature. ======================

will bring popcorn and see how long till he gets to flying trash ships cause half the fun of death of pvp combat is clone checks...other is fleet replacements on own dime as you wait out alliance settlements if a covered op or just straight up out your own pocket if not a covered op or the ship not on the covered replacement list.

Agreed itÆs a stupid game mechanic. There is no skill involved itÆs just a nuisance.
Although I think it should cost you money to upgrade to higher skill point clones - (perhaps it should even cost more than it currently does for the higher skill point clones.)
The clone upgrade should be automatic. Take it from your wallet. If the money is not in your wallet you wallet should go negative or it should tell you that every time you log in.
Its just a dumb thing to have to keep track of and in no way makes the game more fun. If you gain skills since the last time you upgraded your clone the money should come from your wallet automatically.
I liken it to a ôfeatureö where every time you undock you have to click a button on the lower right 3 times or your ship will explode as soon as you undock.
BTW I never lost an unupgraded clone. But this is just a bad mechanic.

it takes 5 seconds to do this....not a big deal.
First its a basic check against self podding whole fleets around. I use this method but my clone is 900K a pop (nice thing about not being an uber sp char lol). One day when clone is in the 10's of millions...I'll get to point B as fast as the traffic and whatever ship I am in lets me lol.
Secondly its a common sense check. You just died and woke up...should reflect on that just a bit. Its a nice mechanic that adds a step to the rush-die-rush-die aspect of mmo's like say Warhammer (can't gb2wow...never played it tbh lol). Now its rush-die-check clone-rush.
Can't take the 5 seconds to check clone before flying out, you earned the retrain lol. Have lost 5 days off my life once not doing this, try like hell not to repeat that now.

No. Camping pods into no-medic kickout stations is a valid gameplay mechanic. The game needn't any more hand-holding features. ___

the funny thing is that you are all suggesting automations, or buying more clones at once.. what makes you think you will notice when those FIVE clones have run out, or when your sp supercede the capacity of the clone that was bought AUTOMATICALLY a while back? These things will make you mind your clone LESS, not more, and thus you will still forget about it constantly.

go out to 0.0 and learn about the importance of controlling medical stations. there is a lot of tactics that evolve around cloning and controlling it. so it is important.
imho upgrading clones and forgetting it, is a nice example of decisions and consequences.
