Ok, I just bought a rupture, this is the ship im going to use to learn how to pvp. I know I may be biting off more then I can chew, thus im creating this post to obtain the best advice on build and war tactics.
ok,I need advice on both the best T-1 and T-2 builds. I need this thing to not only be a frigate killer but be able to take on other Cruisers.
Q1. When in a PvP battle using a Rupture what is the best distance to keep from your enemy?

i usually fit something like that... you get about 30k EHP and a decent amount of DPS, you can go with T2 425mm guns by switching out a trimark for an ancillary current router and if you have a +5% PG implant... otherwise best named 425's.
also if you want drop the MWD and take an afterburner if you think you don't need the extra speed and you can fit 3 trimarks with the T2 220's
For tactics, just burn in close... don't bother with orbiting, you are just depending on your tank to hold you through while you burn em down, if you don't feel safe not moving then just orbit at 2000 meters and put everything you have on em, don't engage anything too big... most cruisers can die to this ship if you can get close enough, recons will burn you tho so don't even bother trying.

Best cruiser in game at the moment. The plate fit is the most common.
Other alternatives are: - Large extender as tank and speed/Tracking enhancers/damage in lows. - Artillery! Makes a pretty decent mid-range sniper (for a T1).
Tactics depends on fit: Plate likes to snuggle so get close and personal. Shield nano works in fall-off so 15-20km range is optimal. Artillery requires care to use, have to keep an eye on both range and transversal to work.
Run the different variations through EFT to see what fits with your skills. Ignore most of the numbers, they lie a lot

I have used and died in a plated fit similar to that already posted. The one thing I don't like about it is that it is slow and unagile relative to other cruisers and especially frigs and dessies. In a gang, I was always the last aligned and thus oftern the last to arrive.
On the other hand, I was often the last to die, too. :-)
Other plus, you are are a Pilgrim's worst nightmare because you are able to tank and fight with no cap at all

1) He is a new PVPer... 2) He asks for a Cruiser fit = something cheap 3) You suggest a named MWD that costs 2-3 times the hull... 4) start from #1

I usually fit something like this, sometimes I'll swap out the launchers for neuts. You have to get up close and personal with this.

I suggest fitting a scram instead of an LR point, unless if you want other close-range cruiers disengaging without a sweat.
