Why does there always have to be some idiot posting crap like this when a router dies for 30 seconds.
I can hardly get my router to work right with the 3 computers I have in my house, frankly I'm not surprised they have some troubles once in a while running 60 machines plus routers plus database 23/7 with over 5000 average users.
So, lets recap. These posts don't help anything. Thanks.

And what do you run on those servers? An MMOG with new content updates, a database with several terabytes of information and peak times with 12,000 people accessing the database and servers dozens of times a minute?

And you think people like you do them any good by spamming the forums with stupid messages like this? You think they're going to be able to magically fix the problems becuase you made a post on the forums?
Yeah I think they should fix the servers. Of course it sucks that they're crashing now and then. Will these posts help fix the problem? No. Will they convince CCP to "get their act together" any faster? No.

Quote: Maybe when their subscriber base fades away like morning mist they will get a clue, pour themselves out of the bar, and fix things?
Yeah, I'm sure they'd rather sit in a bar while everything they've worked for for the past 7 years goes down the toilet because of easily fixable problems.
And I'm the one being irrational here?

You are getting some sort of functionality, 2 1 minute downtimes today is hardly a lack of any functionality.
Fact is CCP is the only company in the world providing an MMOG of this scale that's all in one world, without shards and without private instancing, and it's their first attempt at an MMOG ever. If you can't handle a little instability after a free content patch that other companies would charge $30+ USD for then tough luck.

Yeah maybe they did, but what good is whining about that going to do now? The best you can hope for is a rollback and trust me, that's the last thing you want. How about we just let them do their jobs without harassing them on the forums. If you think they're doing a poor job, well, there's always SOE, good luck there.

Quote: Do you like sounding like you have no clue? I've read all your posts on the subject and I feel you must kiss a lot of ass in the world to get ahead in life.
I don't actually, but having had experience with several MMOG companies I just happen to know CCP is one of the best out there.
Quote: CCP on the other hand started from small to large real quick and took a simple dream and made it what it is today. So thus giving us the reason they offer it free.
If you're going to go that route, maybe you should also acknowledge the fact that SOE and other such companies are HUGE multi million dollar corporations that can not only afford to go the advertisement/publishing route but could also very well afford to give out free expansions.
And CCP does have a publisher, it's called Simon and Schuster Interactive.
Quote: If it wasn't free then would you have bought it or even tried it? Only reason I tried Eve was because it was a free download.
I didn't download my copy, I bought it in a store.
Quote: It's how they make money and get people to buy into the game when you have no real publisher. Put 2 and 2 together and stfu.
No kidding. What does this have to do with expansions? They make the game download free to get people hooked then charge rediculous amounts for crap expansions. CCP makes the game download free and charges zero dollars for expansions that add tons of content. How about you put 2 and 2 together and stfu instead?
Quote: Their is no excuses on why the servers are crashing other than CCP didn't plan ahead for the player base they have.
Yeah actually there are reasons. For example, a common North American router could have died, it's happened before and has nothing to do with CCP or their hosting company.
Quote: It needs to be fixed right away.
How about we find out what the problem is before we go around 'fixing' stuff?

Quote: Also I forgot to mention. Eve = 19.95 to try and play. Dark age of Camelot = free to play being you bought the software. Hello get a damn clue!
"being you bought the software". Hello, get a damn clue. And guess what? My copy of EVE that I bought in the store came with a free month of play too.
