Edited by: Boxless on 21/04/2010 03:44:08 Seriously guys, it is getting a bit thick. What is thick you might ask, the bull****.
Members of one alliance/coalition villainize those on the opposing side as if they had done something very uncomfortable to them or their close female family members. What is amusing about this is that it only seems to be the peons that hold this hate for their adversaries. The leaderships of these groups are commonly long-time friends that are steering their forces towards conflict for the sake of fun or profit, not out of dis-like.
We all fly internet spaceships. We all want ISK to buy said internet spaceships. We all prefer blowing up internet spaceships more than we do losing them. We all spend way too much time on this hobby that we let it get to us. We ALL want good fights. We all agree that CCP is denying us good fights by dragging their feet. We all dislike cheap propaganda that isn't humorous in the least. We all will be here for years to come as the politics are bound to sway greatly.
So try not to emo rage so easily and hold hate as deep as they do in the Red vs. Blue Halo machima.

No, it isn't, at least to those of us that don't spend 15-23 hours EVERY SINGLE day on EVE.

Originally by: Lexia Stone Like it or not, this is just basic human nature. When you're part of a group, any group, it's easy to become defensive when another group attacks yours. It happens everywhere in all walks of life. Why would EVE be any different?
Yes, it's just internet spaceships but you don't seem to understand that many people put a lot of time and effort into these things. My best advise it learn to deal with it or find a PvE game, although even then PvEers can have these same feelings towards others. Maybe you're just not suited for competitive games?
I'm fine with competition. I used to play in multiple FPS ladders and we respected the other teams, not hate them. In EVE however, people dismiss the enemy as scrubs yet still feel like it is an achievement when they beat them. Make up your mind are they a worth opponent or not. You can't say alliance x sucks and then stand on a pedestal after defeating them.

Then how is that any different to spending hours upon hours, months upon months of farming for ISK to buy a ship you really want, only to have someone come smash the **** out of it? The investment of time is the same, the loss is the same, the only difference is EVE is just pixels. But then again, a brand new car is just metal and plastic.
You buy/build internet spaceships with the intent to use them to blow up other internet spaceships(npc or player) or assist in space ship blowing-up. You should know of the risk that someone else might want to blow it up, if you accept that risk, there is no reason for sour grapes.
When you buy a car, it is a reasonable expectation that noone is going to intentionally smash or blow it up unless they are mentally ill. Thus is is perfectly reasonable to be mad in this case.
Now a car analogy that fits is a demolition derby car. Do demolition derby drivers hate each other when someone smashes into their cars?
