Here's a change for once, a T2 BPO I love you thread.
A long time ago I was upset that I was always broke. I always wanted to be one of those "Elite" people who were T2 BPO owners. So when the T2 BPO lotteries finished, I came to the realization that I would not be on of the lucky ones.
So I went back to my routine of NPC killing and player killing accepting the fact I would be broke. Then one day long after the lotteries, a friend approached me asking me if I wanted to split buying a T2 BPO. This simple offer gave me the motivation and made me realize that I can own one of these beautiful blueprints.
I grinded for a month straight not spending a dime until I had enough isk to split the BPO with my friend. After working hard the time had come, I was a part owner of a medium shield booster II Blueprint.
A few months later CCP had this crazy idea about something called "Invention". After reading the the blog I realized what that meant. I could build ANYTHING I wanted!
I decided to work hard until the patch came and this crazy new invention thing was introduced. Once invention came I started producing a lot of cap charger II's and a bunch of different modules. Within a few months I had more isk then I had ever dreamed of having.
Being simple minded I did not realize how badly invention would affected my profits from MY T2bpo. I came to the realization that these elite blueprints reign was long over. The time for invention was here.
A few more months passed and many T2 BPO owners were liquidating their blueprints. Getting burned out from constant grinding by invention I decided perhaps taking my hard earned isk and buying some of these bpo's might be a good idea, as my play time started to get limited. My returns would be significantly lower by buying the bpos, but I would have to invest less time into production.
After buying 2-3 more BPO's it gave me a decent return, enough to allow me to go and pvp freely. Over time I picked up a few more BPO's, I got the isk by going back to invention when I had the time to run all the jobs. Over time sadly these BPO's made less and less profit, but I was happy to own them regardless of what they make me.
Today I have 8 T2 BPO's. All of which I bought from other players, as I wasn't lucky when the lottery was around. I wasn't spoon fed things by crying, and complaining. I worked hard and I got exactly what I wanted.
How did you guys get yours?

By doing the same, I plex'ed, npc'ed, mission'ed , without spending anything (really hard to do when you start making your first couple bill) until I could afford them. Really, it's self control that plays the biggest part on saving up all those iskies.

I basically did the same as you bro. Took years but I finally have 7 ship and module bpo's.
People could use a good dose of ambition and maybe we wouldn't have to get on here and fight. |

I was one of the lucky ones that got a few from the lottery but I bought the majority of mine using the isk I made from selling Covetor BPCs for 5-10 million isk each and you can make a ton of bpcs every week.
During that time everyone was focused on T2 bpos and a single Covetor bpo was making more isk than most T2 bpos.

While trolling anti t2 peeps in threads....took the time to hit buy and sell and bought an unloved cheap bpo when it came up. Some fixing, ran it for a bit, fotm changed, flipped for a better price. Got a better one.
Invention helped buy. Lots of npc rats died to pay for my seed money as well, once you know how to fly and fit a mission runner, not like you spend money on anything else except faction ammo if motivated (and I am cheap, plain ole t1 ammo I made for myself....with melted down t1 crap loot worth more as minerals than as an item lol).

Don't have one yet, but working hard and saving my iskies. And when I can afford one it'll be my reward, something I've earned. Hell I might not even use it that much, just stroke my screen and whisper "Mmm, shiny" to myself. I'll get there sooner or later and will no doubt be even more amused by all the *****ing that goes on about them.

Grinding and selling a carrier pilot back in '07 when they were actually worth something.

Well, at first I ratted and this was boring as hell. The ISK slowly was going up. But if some ppl remember, there was a nice thing, called "escrow". You could get some very good deals there. Once I was checking escrow and saw that some guy put a bunch of command ships for sale at a price of one I immediately accepted and in several days, resold them at proper price. That gave me ISK to buy T2 BPO.

I bought my with profits I obtained by scamming ISK farmers and ISK sellers.

I'm probably one of EVE's biggest scammers, the trouble is ISK farmers and sellers don't come to the forum and whine about me.

Started out with a small undefended POS in the ass end of lowsec where I could actually find a few research slots open.
250m in seed money from various efforts.
Was late to the invention thing, getting in about a year after it came out once the filthy profits had fallen off considerably. Set up a mind bogglingly complex spreadsheet to run a few calculations, and made my choices.
Now I'm swimming in money, I've got 5 T2 BPOs that rotate through the assembly lines on a monthly basis, and I've bought & sold about a dozen others.
Always working on my wallet more than my killstats since PvP pretty much sucks these days. Gone are the lovely days when a solo pilot could actually find targets and not blobs. :/ Or instawarp & cloak macros.
Still want to know how Monkey does it... that seems to be the only way to get any sort of combat anymore.

why do I feel all odd after reading this I got mine off the lotto and kept it
I make more off invention than I do off it, but I need to stop spending my iskies on PLEX(ok so I pay for 3 accts that way) and start buying more T2 bpos appearently

Good to see you're still playing <3. Anyway, I obtained my t2 bpo's much like everyone else here, (save for franny) did lots of invention, did lots of missions and ratted a ton, saved up and bought mine through hard work.
